HD7970 Artifacting

Hey, I've just recently bought a new card and am experiencing terrible graphic issues, I've tried the 13.9 and 13.10Beta drivers and I still keep getting this, not sure what else to change or where to change it any ideas or suggestions would help greatly, my previous card was N570GTX and it was running everything flawlessly, so this was a huge disappointment...

THIS x100 if you purchase a card and you have artifact off the gate with stock clocks then yea you return it if this started after owning it outside companys return policy RMA it.

Another possibility is your 570GTX drivers weren't uninstalled completely (if at all) intefering with your 7950. Also, you could try the 13.8 (can't remember exact number) catalyst drivers instead of the beta versions.

Ouch, that looks bad. Looks like it's a defect with the card itself. I own a HD7970 myself and haven't had any of the issues you've mentioned. I'd suggest what most of the others are suggesting, return it.

Windows does not load drivers for hardware that's not installed. Better to leave the old drivers installed since if the new hardware doesn't work you won't have to reinstall everything.

If you are only experiencing an issue with this game, but if other software/games run fine and issue free, then it's most not likely the card. I really think if the card was bad you would be experiencing BSODs all the time and be seeing artifacts all the time. But I agree if it's not working properly for whatever reason, return it for a refund before your stuck with a card you can't return.

You need to make sure that your computer can handle the card as well... Just because your computer can handle the graphics card doesnt mean that your computer can handle processing the graphics... You can't really get a clear answer without specs, my best guess would be that your trying to run the game in HD and the processor can handle it giving you that issue... Laraul is correct if it was the graphics card then everything on the computer would most likely be messed up...

By computer, more specifically, your cpu. Check your gpu temp, if you're hitting 100c then that'll cause it. If you don't have enough power, that can cause it. If those two things aren't the problem, you've got a bad card and should return/RMA it asap.

This is the best answer imo. But really, don't ever use beta drivers. Also, before you return the card, do try to unplug and mount the card back on - properly, and boot it up again to see if it happened again. (I am presuming you uninstalled your old drivers for your previous card, right??)

If you do discover it's your power issue. Just return and get yourself a new replacement card (and say you got a defective one, as an excuse) after all, you don't know if you really did mess up the card you are holding. Then get a new PSU for the replacement. :P
