I couldn't play an elvaan in FFXI because the proportions drove me nuts after a while. I tried. Ended up going human just because it was either silly little person, giant brutish person, female cat thing, or freakish elf. At least here I have "male cat thing" to add to the acceptable list.

More on topic, it would be nice to have racial armor quests / designs in addition to the class ones.

Aside from technical problems that occur like clipping, Miq'ote will look a lot better than Elezen because they're basically Hyur in terms of physical proportions.

They're just Hyur in cosplay, in my eyes.

FFXI had race specific armor, altho all they did was reskin the starter armor they got, it wouldn't surprise me if they ended up doing the same with this, which i wouldn't mind, the hyur starting gear looks quite pleasing.

XI's armor also changed in design between races and genders for the most part - in ARR few obvious pieces does but not in the way they did with XI for a lot.

it was no different in XI, even the armor pic depicted Hume garb.
Pouldrons sat right on Hume characters, while on elvaans they sat on shoulders, sticking out like a thorn

Generally armors are modeled for one race and stretched/scaled for others. Nothing new.

I was hyur and was so desperate waiting for Fantasia pot. Just received it today, was so confused what to switch between Roe and elf.

Ended up with Roe, and I like it. Just hope the sea wolves has more color varieties, most of them make me looks like hulk.
