Toxic endgame community...

I'm legacy and I thought that legacy players would be the most toxic, but from my experience it's the new players who rushed the game and had relics+1 while everyone else was barely installing the game that are the worst to play with. On the forums I think you're right though.

There's a sizable population of transient gamers who move from release to release, blasting through content and complaining. They're the ADD generation; the "everyone gets a trophy" generation, and they'll largely disappear once Wildstar, TESO and EQN are released.

Having said that, it wasn't a great idea to make the endgame farm dungeons storyline dungeons as well, though I supposed it does a good job of preparing players for the type of people they'll be stuck with once they start gearing.

If you want to ensure certain behavior during play then form your own party. This applies to both sides of the fence.

If you don't want your dungeon experience ruined by speed runners then form your own group.

If you don't want your dungeon experience ruined by cut scene watchers then form your own group.

Whatever your goal is there's no reason to be rude (this still applies to both groups).

Sorry. No it doesn't. Cut scenes are a part of the game. People have the right to experience that part of the game if they choose. If you are using the DF, you accept that some people might want to experience that part of the game.

Agreed. 90% of these people will hop to the next shiny, get to the end and complain about it. I can't wait for them to be gone. Your point about endgame instances being farmed, i don't think that was the intention. I could see them removing the reward from it, but then no one would queue for it once they did that.

This thread just reiterates the revelation I've had countless times over the years - that online games like this are nothing but a time waste if you do it for anything other than a brief few hours of mindless entertainment.
In the end it's all virtual and every second you spend 'progressing' you could be doing something meaningful.

For people that take it seriously enough to talk down to other strangers on the internet over a game, I can't find it in me to bad mouth you - it would be unfair considering how poor your life must be.

You're missing the point. He's not saying you don't have the right to watch the cutscenes, but if you choose to go with DF, you don't have the right to force 7 other ppl to watch it with you. Watch the CS if you want, but don't expect everyone else to wait for you. It's not a one way street, neither play styles have priority use of DF.

The part-of-game bit is irrelevant, the skip function is also part of the game too.

If you don't want to deal with noobs, make your own group outside of the duty finder. It's not that hard, because the second you use the DF, you give yourself to the RNG gods to give you somebody who has a similar mindset as you, which most times will NOT happen.

Doesn't excuse poor behavior by people. They're not tolerant mature normal adults whom have run out of patience because another person is being uncooperative. We know for a fact the type of players the author is complaining about are the ones that absolutely lose their mind over waiting thirty seconds.

Correct. Because you skip that content and don't want to experience it. This gives you no right to force someone else to skip it. That simple. On this issue it is a one-way street.
