My therory: Enix lost out on a lot of money for the lack luster launch of this game. They now need a way to make up for it. They take over accounts and make it look like it was hacked. This causes panic and makes most people buy the security token. 9-10 bucks a pop....bam maken money again.

Hopefully this really is not the case. The above in my personal opinion and is in no way a accusation about the Square Enix company or their affiliates.

They have a free version of the token on both Apple and Droid app stores so I highly doubt this would be their plan to make money....
