* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

>Game has very little open world content
>The community wants to strip away the last of what open world content is in the game
No thanks, not signed.
They need to fix drawing priority. That comes first. I don't know WHY they're delaying what should be an emergency maintenance patch, I have no idea WHY they're taking so long to fix it, but they are. Should they be punished for delaying this patch? Well they are, the servers are crashing, the FATEs need fixing, Square is just being slow at actually fixing it. This is facts. Its been broken since day 1 and what is an emergency problem has no signs of actually being fixed anytime soon. This falls on Square Enix, not us. Don't punish the community by stripping away what little open world content is in this game. For this reason i'm not signing. Don't punish us for their incompetence at taking so long to fix an emergency problem that breaks their game.
If they take these fates away, there might as well not be an open world in the game. Don't complain about the FATEs when the servers crash, blame Square Enix for taking months to fix an emergency problem. Them's the breaks.
P.S: This is just the tutorial level. You guys think the Odin/Behemoth FATEs crashing servers are a problem? Wait until you see the Lightning FATE pop next month. Every server's coming down. The problem is not the FATE, it's the system driving it. Square Enix needs to just stop procrastinating what should be an emergency maintenance for months on end with no idea on when this patch is coming in sight.

I think these fights are super fun, and well worth doing. The idea of taking on something that can just litter the floor with dead bodies makes me positively giddy. Win or lose, I love these fates, and I love seeing our server work together on something.
It's not like the rewards are gamebreaking, they just look really cool. So people can't complain that it's ruining their progression or nonsense like that. I can only think of one time our server crashed due to Odin, and even then it's not like it was an issue. Slightly disappointing that we didn't get to kill him that time, but hey, he'll be back. The only issue I've ever really had was the targeting one- where he won't render sometimes. But you can usually tab target around that, and they said they're fixing them.
TLDR; I like them. Just cuz you don't like them, doesn't mean there aren't people who enjoy them. It's not like you *have* to run out there, so leave the awesome mega fates alone.
"Cuz when your back's against the wall,
That's when you show no fear at all."
I wish BCNMs would come back. Mobs randomly dropping items to use for epic fights!

I just ranted about this few days ago via blog... lol but I don't have problems with server crashing. Just the bloody lag in the battle field and how stupid it is to get hit at something you can't see.
Totaly agree they are not fun in any aspect as they are atm.

Instanced versions of these would be so much better. I don't mind the FATE versions due to like the atmosphere that Odin brings to the Shroud when he spawns, it's awesome. But it would be cooler to have them be harder instanced fights.
Yes, let's put even more stress on the instance servers that have crashed again and again and crash them some more.
Doesn't solve shit. I really don't understand this request. It's like people think that putting all the stress on the open world fates and dumping that stress on the instance servers and crashing duty finder for everybody is going to solve the problem.
