Change the FATEs to work like Dhorme Chimera or something. The FATE spawns, people run in to enter the instance, and there is a limit on the amount of people who can enter. Since this makes it much harder to participate in the FATEs, increase the rate they spawn. I'd also make it so you actually have to have progressed far enough into the questline to participate in the Odin FATE... Heck, they should actually work like dungeon bosses... You engage Odin/Behemoth, 15 seconds later a barrier goes up that stops more people from entering (an enlarged version of the barrier you're stuck in at the start of a dungeon).
Personally, I really hate how Odin and Behemoth are FATEs. The lag is one issue, but more importantly I hate how boring the fights are because they're FATEs... There is nothing interesting about them, just throw everyone on the server at them until they're dead... It is completely pathetic that that is what Odin has been reduced too... At least if they out right know that only X people can participate in the fight, they can design a fight which doesn't suck...
This would be really great for Odin, but I can't see it working on Behemoth...
Make Odin similar to how he was in Einherjar in XI... During the course of his FATE, he says something which indicates that other FATEs have started, these FATEs would be against Valkyries, probably the same nine from Einherjar. They would have similar rewards as the Odin FATE, but would be spread out across The Black Shroud. They could even make it so the Valkyries have to be defeated in order to beat Odin... That would make the FATE somewhat more interesting and alleviate the lag issues. Would require some additional balancing of course (in both rewards and the actual battle), but it would certainly be a step in the right direction...

I haven't even seen Odin/Bahamut before.<.<
But even when you're lucky & can locate the Fate it doesn't mean you can actually PARTICIPATE.
ps3 players will have a hard time on crowed areas in this case where almost an entire server is on...
As for me I have long given up on these Fates on my ps3.Just standing around like an idiot and everything is invisible ;(
Does this happen also on PCs or is that only ps3 issue? SE should fix this!!!

Square Put in awesome Event based fights (content) and people complain that the fights arent good enough.
Wh

I guess there are people who enjoy them so if they remove it I think it should be temporary until they can fix the issues. However, a lot of us think zergfests like these two are extremely boring complete wastes of amazingly cool monsters even when they do work as intended and I really think they need to make an alternative version of the fights for those of us who actually like to use tactics and skill for some decent rewards. Odin and Behemoth are just too iconic to be wasted like this.

Agreed, its just too much going on..heck, even if it doesn't crash anything they are darn near unplayable when the monster starts blinking off and on. I end up having to move around to try and get it to pop back up and it generally gets me killed when I walk into one of his moves that I cannot even tell is happening cause of all the lag.
Perhaps making them into a 24 man instance or something would be better than trying to let 25% of the server population bash on one mob at once.
On a side note I love the idea of NM's that spawn randomly in the world..however, they shouldn't pop up on the world map for everyone to see..at least that's my opinion anyway. I mean hunting NM's could be a fun aspect to the game..its not that much of an accomplishment when there is a big blinking icon on your map telling you to go to this location.

Cameo fates are meant to be fun server events.I guess there are people who enjoy them so if they remove it I think it should be temporary until they can fix the issues. Only Server Batmans get mad when Square does nice things for them.

Both of these events just arent enjoyable at all for me, everytime someone in my linkshell nowadays says they are up, I dont even bother to go. The lag is horrible, you can hardly see anything going on, there's so many people crowded there to really do anything. I agree with this part the most.
Add in the rewards arent even good for most job classes, Odin drops PLD gear, there's really nothing for any other job. These two bosses would be much better served converted into instanced boss fights. Maybe have them retreat after being defeated as Fates only for you to realize they werent fighting at thier true potential as hard mode instanced fights.

If they beamed a cookie directly into your hands would it be worth doing for you? Both of these events just arent enjoyable at all for me, everytime someone in my linkshell nowadays says they are up, I dont even bother to go.
