Duty finder is a joke

I always ask my FC if the queue is taking too long. They are usually more than happy to help.

On one of my characters I chose to level a healer and dps at the same time so I could have the option. I enjoy healing though because for me it isn't boring; it's challenging. Especially when the dps likes to move out of range or not get out of the AoE.

^ A thousand times this. I haven't had any problems getting into the DF, though I am a tank, I suppose. Anyway, the DF is there to make your life easier when you need an extra hand, it was never really designed as the be-all-end-all of dungeon parties. Join a free company, start a link shell and build a friend-base that has the flexibility to adapt to the types of classes that are online at the time, and use the DF to fill the holes in your already-populated party. You'll have much less frustration, and playing repeatedly with people that you know is a hell of a lot more fun than queuing up with random people. There are exceptions to every rule, of course, but give it a shot.

2. Better rewards for playing a role that is missing

This is already confirmed for 2.1
The DF would tell you what roles are understaffed in moment and everyone who play this role get a bonus.

As most know, Tanks and Healers are generally the most boring to play.
Heal - heal heal heal, debuff, heal.
Aggro - No cool looking skills, just sits there and takes hits.
People wanna spank than tank or heal. Quit making those 2 classes a snoozefest to play you may have more healers and tanks.
Also the two most difficult, you have to think on your feet and the moment people blame the tank or healer, they stop playing.

Tanking in of itself is fine. However it could use some adjustments, like some of the abilities being removed from the global cooldown, which enables you to use them more freely and effectively. It then further encourages you to be a more aware and responsive and finally proactive, to ensure more control of situations.

And that's a win for everyone.


That of course doesn't change the duty finder situation - there ARE plenty of tanks.
What I think is most likely is that because tanks/healers are needed more(and there are some % less of them), they get into groups quick and early. They get their items sooner and then move on to no longer queing.

Not sure what you mean , the duty finder works instantly for me .

My only gripe with tanking is that stun needs to be off the global cool down so I can instantly stun mobs when I need to .

It totally sucks to see ability and have to wait 2.5 seconds before I can stun a 1 sec cast ability , only time stun is really good is when you are waiting for ability to happen because you know the fight and that the mob is going to cast a certain ability at the exact time which in itself is lame.


Anyways for DPS . EASY FIX for this problem , they should pay me to be a game designer . Add more than 2 dps slots per group . 6 man light party 1 tank 1 healer 4 dps . Of course they would need the hp of mobs to be increased due to the extra damage . That would decrease the wait times by half.

Same thing happens here.. just can't get kicked.

Just tonight I had an ACN that had never played healer or tank telling me how bad I was, changing my marks, refusing to follow the marks I put up, and just generally being a dbag. My favorite part was being called gimp while having the best gear in every slot but one.

How many people really want to play healer/tank, get told you suck, your job is easy (see this topic ^) and if you don't do everything perfect you deserve any number of insults. Now bad dps (which these guys almost always are) are free to get away with it.

Just leave group , they lose in the end you lose 15 mins they lose 40 mins + . Almost no tank is going to click join a group in progress when they don't have to so the group is over as soon as you leave . Their loss .

I play DPS so I expect long queues for Duty Finder given that's basically the way it goes in other MMOs too. The bigger problem with DF is that it's too easy to grief it.

People wiping party on purpose? Can't boot them, one of the legitimate players has to take the 15 minutes hit.
Tanks that afk for points? Same as above. Granted this is partially SE's fault for forcing the DF to have unnecessary roles in certain group. They don't get punished for it at all because they can leave the group and get an immediate re-queue.
Tanks or Healers that continuously spam register-cancel for the Duty Finder. The sound itself wouldn't be so annoying since I can mute the computer, it's annoying because it automatically makes my cursor focus on the DF ready window so he's continuously interrupting whatever other activity I'm doing. I don't even know why people do this, usually when you troll it's because you have fun seeing people annoyed or angry. It's not like you can even see who you're annoying when you do this.

and the average wait time is never higher than 20 minutes. Who the hell is getting into these dungeons so quickly?

Usually I need to wait 10-15 mins for AK and 1 second for primal hard mode.

You know there is a fix for that. A very simple fix. Just... switch... tabs... make one for the ones you want to see and leave out party chat. Simple.

At the very least you can simply click on the gear and uncheck party chat

Your solution to other people talking crap in the chat log is to turn it off completely so that you might miss out on people saying things that are actually important (Strategies for one)?
