I don't think this is necessarily related to the ISP throttling issue, either: I'm in the same situation as Terri. I have virtually no lag or latency and my husband's is unplayable. Same room. Same router. Same ISP. He's also experiencing intermittent 90000s and ready to quit.

My friend had problem with lag/latency, and when he upgraded HW (Core2Duo, 8600M nvidia laptop to Core-I7, 750M nvidia laptop), the lag issue was gone for him. seems some lag is caused by computer itself. (what improved for him was: NPC loading/appearing, AoE times (he was finally able to escape it), and of course FPS). When I played beta via Ps3 and computer, I also noticed that PS3 suffer from slow NPC loading/appearing times (AoE skills were ok though).

Sooo... Against my better judgement I decided to sub after the most recent maintenance to see if this had been fixed.

I am so baffled as to why this issue has not been fixed in such a long amount of time. What I find even more baffling than that is that SE has not even acknowledged it as a real issue. Now I am pissed that I subbed..... Waste of damn money.

It seems really odd to me. My entire FC and all of my friends on other servers (primarily Balmung) experience no lag. I was even playing from Scotland on a NA server and never had lag issues. The only thing that makes sense to me is that either some people are insisting its SE when it really is either their connection or PC or they are experiencing lag through the server routing process. They could be routing through server hubs that have problems, but generally that points to a problem with people in specific locations and all the problems seem to be random.

From the amount of data all over the forums I would say that it is the latter..

You can have two ppl playing the game from the same house, and only one will be affected. You have have a dungeon party going and only 2 of the 4 players affected. I am almost positive that the issue lies with the routing. But this is still an issue that needs to be dealt with by SE. All I can do is contact my ISP that has no control over where you get routed on the way to SE's servers.

As a customer I feel the issue is hopeless. SE fails to comment about it. ISP's will not help, and there is nothing that can be done locally to fix the issue other than pay money for VPN services.

Lot's of posts on the forum about this issue. I had it now for two weeks time with no change for the better. When investigating it seems indeed to be a routing issue. SE are the only ones that can try doign anything about it, and sadly they seem to be ignoring the issue. A comment that they are investigatign would be nice, but maybe that is to much to ask?

Square Enix white knights need to get off Square Enix's D something fierce, it's pretty damn sad.

There was lag issues in FF14 and there's lag issues in FF14 ARR, it's not our ISP's, it's not our rigs, it's SE servers. You have numerous threads with lag issues amongst other issues like BSOD and the crappy R6025 errors. The size of Square Enix's ego now and days is just so out of control, they didn't acknowledge the issues that plagued FF14 tell they officially canned it, then there's the whole destroying the FF name that I won't get into.

This game is probably one of the best MMO's that I've played out of WoW,Rift,WAR,FF11,Tera,Swtor,Star Trek,TSW,GW1 and GW2 , ARR is amazing except the technical flaws it has like extreme lag, unstable environments and errors are gonna kill this game. If you're one of the people who actually can play this game w/o any issues, congrats here's a special snowflake sticker for you.

Any type of LAG Issues are currently provided from Your Computers End It matters NOT how many Online Games you play. I Play Lots of MMO's and my brother Plays LOTS of FPS's. Anytime we have LAG Issues or LATENCY as you wanna call it from there side It is Mostly Due to the FACT that SOMEONE ELSE on your network or yourself unknowingly is Either DOWNLOADING or LEACHING your service. I Know From EXPERIENCE all to well your issues. from when I played non stop during the day times. But I now play from the middle of the night as thats when my jobs times permits me to after work,. Sorry to see you go but Hey GLAD your GOING because IM sick and TIRED of hearing players WHINE and CRY about this game since it came out. I Had issues with it when it came out as to where I Couldnt log in. My friends can not create characters on the server Im on. blah blah blah. whah whah whah whah. If your this upset over the relaunch of this game then Why dont you go see the issues Neverwinter had. they had these exact issues. You need to have Patience while they do what they can to fix these issues.
