gametime for many expires tomorrow is it really worth subbing?

I think you don't know what you are talking about. FFXI had only a few hundred thousand and managed really nice content updates and expansions. If content comes slower at the cost of losing toxic entitled players, I think I can live with that.

People rushed to endgame within one month of release and got burnt out spamming AK/CM. Instead of doing many of the other activities in this game, a certain sect of players have been clamoring for content to appease their end game tread mill appetite. Well, if those players cannot wait one or two months, I rather them leave.

call it what u want but when people see end game is a mess they unsub its how mmos work and if they lose enough it might be following the same path 1.0 did i did not play 1.0 but i heard enough about it and 2.1 being so far off still i think is gonna hurt more subs than people realize not that i have made it to end game yet just saying what i have heard so far

I really cant decide to sub or not, my friends in game want me to sub but is it worth subbing just for the social aspect? I'm kind of sick of grinding the same stuff over and over ak and castrum mostly running out of gil and don't want to gather, maybe final fantasy xiv isn't for me if i don't like grind but i love final fantasy games and i enjoy most mmorpgs grrr what to do??????

do i stick it out till 2.1 or come back at a later date anyone having this dilemma?

i know for me i will not sub due to the following:

1. classes feeling boring
2. having to wait 3 seconds in between attacks on monk and dragoon

I personally don't think so Rush. As you said, the game is way too grindy... and the rewards for all of that grinding are very minimal. The experience starts to feel really empty and pointless once the main storyline content and quests are completed. Endgame dungeons take too long to queue for, take too long to complete, and aren't remotely rewarding enough. Not to mention, leveling secondary classes via fates is extremely repetitive and boring. Dungeons and Leves don't provide enough exp to make them competitive alternatives. I'm kind of sick of grinding for 5 levels for a single class quests and I think the idea of spending another day @ quarrymill or coerthas is quite nauseating. Post-game needs work'.

I wasn't going to out of principle plus the lag.
but lately the lag got slightly better and I've been enjoying playing a paladin (pure dungeon farming like I used to do in WoW) instead of my Scholar. Also I just got into crafting again and remembered why I enjoyed it in Beta, the mini game is very nice and I understand that any mini game gets boring at times, but for now I'm not bored of it yet.

no AAA sandbox fantasy MMO has been released yet, that's another factor.

1.0 and 2.0 are light years apart.

The "average player" is not even near level cap. I think the stats SE released at that gaming convention two weeks back but the average player around 17-20. The end game content is lacking variety is the big issue for the most part. If there had been three more end game dungeons for people to utilize, I think people would be whining a lot less. In 2.1, that problem will be solved.

2.1 will still have a large audience when the "average player" gets closer to level cap. This game could lose half of it's player base tomorrow and SE would still have a similar population to FFXI: a game that released regular quality content.

Many games, including wow, launched with 1.0 end-game lacking. If some people cannot wait or want to complain because they "know better", good riddance. They need to take their money to a game that satisfies them.

If you aren't interested in all the other classes and If you don't like crafting. This game ain't for you. Yeah sure bitch bout FATE grinding, there are other ways to level your other classes. Run some dungeons, collect some of those gear set pieces or try to clear the hunting log. Guildleves are always there for xp whenever. Do everything in moderation, why the mad rush? If the game is repetitive, it's the player that's killing it for themselves.
