sticky imo.
Thanks, nice post!
Will copy it down for when I get to lv50, well written and no QQ.
Th HQ icons is the same of the HQ materials some monsters get.
try look for lv40+ rings, there's always a HQ there, you'll see the icon difference.

I Have the HQ I.lv 55 AH Green tome for SMN, Its got 1 less base damage than Ifrit... Completed Ifrit and Garuda with ease (not being carried either, DPS is usually mid-range or higher). Ifrit weapons are nice, But I mean if you're not prepared to go 0/50+ in raging frustration then I can recommend Getting a HQ I.lv55 AH Weapon and Putting a few Materia in it, will be good enough to get your through Ifrit/Garuda, But I'd farm Garuda weapon before Titan.

Because the gear drops in Wanderer's Palace are so terrible, that they're not worth using so you should just avoid them until you have all the tomes you need.
Seriously, who died and made you god of this game? Yeah, you may not like people using gear that you don't like in a dungeon, but guess what, it's not your character, not your choice, not your place to tell others what they have to do, and that there's "no excuse" for something. Please get over yourself.
FYI, you used the word elitist wrong.
Really good read at least I know what to do once I hit 50 now.
Just maybe could have come up with a better title it makes for a bad first impression.
"When a child has an imaginary friend, we call it cute and play along. When an adult has an imaginary friend, we call it schizophrenia and treat him with drugs. When many adults share an imaginary friend, we call it religion and get yelled at when we point out the similarities between points two and three."
Geez way to overreact. He probably just forgot about WP like the rest of us because it's not very good for Tomestones so most people only do it once or twice for the crafting materials for the relic quest weapons.Because the gear drops in Wanderer's Palace are so terrible, that they're not worth using so you should just avoid them until you have all the tomes you need.

AF are easily accessible so they are baseline what people should have when they hit 50, and most of all it means that you have all of your abilities which is even more important. WP drops are just fine but I doubt many people farm for that gear when AF is serviceable. AF bodies are even the same item level as WP bodies too, they are interchangeable.
Hate the title, love the content
Thank you.
I think I will just take my time to relic (don't want to farm for DL that much) and no plan for the Coil
Larek Darkholme @ Ragnarok
Very well written, lucid and to the point.
....you elitist dog you! ;p
This is quite an interesting and passionate reply, and I'll thank you for making it. It illustrates quite succinctly the attitude that I mention at the end of my opening post where players can expect to be called elitist for having some basic standards of play. I do think a bit of counterpoint is appropriate, though, so let me explain briefly why this is so:Because the gear drops in Wanderer's Palace are so terrible, that they're not worth using so you should just avoid them until you have all the tomes you need.

1. Nowhere do I mention farming gear from WP. I mentioned in a reply post later on that I farmed WP myself for the Darklight weapon, but that was a personal choice and not one I would necessarily recommend to others. As a matter of fact, I quite plainly say in the OP that, after acquiring AF, players should farm gear out of AK and tomes for Darklight. This would seem to be a case of not reading my post properly (or at all) before replying. If a player chooses to run content in less than AF gear, they do so at their own risk. AF is the most basic of endgame gear, and it behooves players to acquire it, especially given the ease to which it can be had.
2. Nowhere do I state I am the "god" of this game. In fact, I opened the post by calling the forthcoming wall of text "tips", also known as suggestions. Suggestions are not commands, and a command is useless anyway without the appropriate authority to enforce it. Simply put, I am offering advice based on personal experience on how players new to the 50's can be confident in their characters when confronted with some of the harsher opinions of those they encounter in content.
3. Ironically, your attempt to tell me I don't have a choice in dealing with people I don't like is doing the very thing you accuse me of: dictating the way another person plays. Sadly, you are wrong in what you say. I do have choices, as does everyone in the game. If I join a group that is under-prepared for a particular instance, it is my choice to stay with them based on my own estimation of their chances. I rarely make that decision based on gear. To be frank, some of my most enjoyable runs have been with people that were attempting content for the first time. Players that were experienced gave suggestions on how to clear the content smoothly, and the newer people were open to learning. To a certain extent, attitude is the most important factor in this game. That being said, assuming one can attempt an instance without properly preparing one's equipment, i.e. that "skill" alone will be sufficient, is the height of arrogance. That arrogance is fine in like-minded company that is looking for a unique challenge, but it is incredibly rude to thrust that arrogance upon someone else who expects their fellow players to meet a certain standard of progress in the game. Frankly, it is a worse attitude than the actual "elitists" in this game that demand players they game with over-gear for content. Yes, I do know what the word actually implies. My title is an application of irony, though that seems to have been lost on you.
To everyone else, I'll think of a better title.
My post is a guide, and the people that have expressed their appreciation for it have mine in return for doing so. I sincerely look forward to people like those in this thread reaching 50. You'll be wonderful additions to the endgame community!
Edit to add: Updated the title (somewhat).
