I've been playing since before Ulitma Online, OP.

The standard operating procedure for MMORPG (not MMOs in general) type games seems to be to release as soon as is possible, with enough content to get the game off the ground and running (only so much investment capitol available). From there, content and features are added in as the game proceeds. Seems they usually start with "quality of life" items while working towards at least one new raid level piece of content for the end game.

Hard to judge a game of this nature right out of the gate. I'd give it some time. It should start soon, and they are usually pretty well established after the first year.

He specifically said he'd like to level some alt jobs but that there was too much leve/fate grinding, so clearly.... he's not done them already which is why I said those are probably the story quests he's specifically talking about. Please, tell me a good way to level alts aside from sitting in dungeon queues for an hour and just killing random mobs once you've finished all the non-class quests if you don't like leve/fate grinding. :P

Hunting log, asking if your FC needs help. I got a lot of exp last night helping a FC member do Cutter.

I was actually trying not to level from 44-45 and ended up doing it in spite of myself. Wanted to finish Darkhold and rank up in GC first, but didn't happen.

AAAaaaaand once again if you haven't done them DO THEM. What's forcing/stopping you from doing it? Fate Grinding? YOU DON'T WANT TO DO FATE GRINDING! So what's the problem? do the quests lol. People are so thick. I levelled my alt lancer to 34 without fate grinding coz I needed the ability for my bard lol

Does the exp from hunting logs get better as you level? I usually finish most, if not all, of those off within the first four levels of opening a new rank. And while helping FC members is a decent way to get some exp on the side it's not really a reliable one. FC members may not always need help and often, when they do, they're looking for a tank/healer type for it so there's those long dungeon queues I was talking about again.

    You think I'm thick..... Wow.

In my original reply to you I was pointing out there there is still story to see on the same character because if you're leveling other jobs (like he said he wanted to) then you still have the story quests for those jobs open. You know, the ones that pop up in your guild every five levels? And I brought this up because you asked how someone could see the story. I was giving options for seeing the story.

I also never once said I didn't like fate grinding. The guy you replied to first did, but I did not. I don't mind it, but then I'm also ok with sitting in one place and killing mobs until I level because I'm in no hurry and I find it relaxing. I did ask you for alternatives for someone who doesn't like leve/fate grinding once all the quests are done but I guess you missed that just like you've missed every other point I've made and continue to spout "OMG DONT FAET GRIND".

old gamer .. been MMOing since they started, MUDs before that, things on GEnie before web existed, was joking with FC that am old as dirt IRL and in gaming terms.

I will be subbing. I'm retired and certainly could be at primal HMs by now, or could have dusted off my legacy 1.0 one, but I haven't. Game is much better if taken slow. I think in part the lower levels are better balanced tested, by a couple of patches I expect the high end to be as well. More content, repair costs already addressed ...

If your goal was to consume all tested and reasonably balanced content, then you have done so and moving along is perfectly rational. Seeing it all within the free month may even be economical. However, as a gamer from old MUDs, maybe one day I'll stumble into a community again. Too early to tell here still. So I don't see age, or date you played your first MMO as at all relevant. We have different goals for our gaming experience out of the game. You have accomplished yours, kudos. I am unsure on mine, and will sub a bit to find out if I can.

OP looks like he's making a cry for help to somehow get people to change his mind. If you don't like it, I don't think there's anything anyone can say or do to change your mind. Best you can do is stop in again once they release a new content patch and see if that does it for you. It's not unheard of for people to do what they want for a while and unsubscribe until the next content patch comes out, and repeat the cycle.

Hmm well i think the game itself has plenty of content. My main job is level 25, and that's because i'm a slower player but also I've gotten so distracted. The game itself is so much fun and offers me so much to do So i have to agree with Hechicera's point there.

Though if your looking for new content, the dev team themselves have planned for a major content release every three months if i remember correctly. And 2.1 looks to be a great bit of content.

But you also have to remember this is still early in the games life. Its only been a bit over a month. Things will come around and be more established soon

Well, Kitya, you seem to be answering for him so I'm just replying to the fact that he doesn't have to fate grind and NOBODY IS FORCING HIM TO, but hey, assume all you want. And you think the quest you get every 5 level is enough to level up your sub job?

Missed it? you probably missed the part where I and another person suggested what he can do before you even asked that.

you should probably stop answering for him, since you don't mind fate grinding and he can't stand them at all. k thx bye

If you hate it nobody is forcing you to do it. I for one actually levelled to 50 doing Quests and dungeons. I only did Fates when they are nearby but I never grouped for it. I'm actually one of the few people that hate that fate grinding zerg.
Uh, each class has its own quest line separate from the main scenario ...
