I'll join this parade: SE is most likely canceling games to lay off people to save money...jut saying. Meaning, they wont "concentrate" on any one thing - meaning life goes on just as it did before. They wont make FFXI in HD, nor should they, the game has been played out. I will say however that FFXIV will be ok and probably live on for a long time.

I understand what OP is trying to say. However, like stated by a few others here, FFXI is more geared towards casuals now. Yea, it still involves a time commitment, but much less. That isn't the only reason it's more casual though because as many have argued, a time sink doesn't equal difficulty. With the release of higher levels and uncapping the majority of missions it makes most substantial battles easier, and unleashes subjob abilities to main jobs that breaks the strategy and balance that a level cap of 75 brought to the game. And Making the process of leveling up quicker "AND" easier with more exp and alliances. These were my main reasons for leaving. I want XIV to have a much larger learning curve because thats what keeps people interested while they throw time at achieving something.

XI still isn't casual, they may have added options and features to make it more casual friendly but overall it is still the hardcore time sink compared to FFXIV.

XI is casual at the moment for the simple fact that they can't add new endgame till they're at 99. It wouldn't make sense seeing as anything they would put into place now would be alot easier in 9 levels. They are padding the crap out of how long they're taking to just cap us to 99 though.

On the topic of improving both games, FFXIV is already getting alot of attention. I'm hoping once this game is able to stand on it's own two feet, they'll give XI some of it's resources back and we'll see some actual new content rather than copy and paste versions of abyssea. It's not horrible but I'd rather something new.

Because it is lacking a new end game for the time being doesn't make it casual. Just lacking content.

Ofc they won't concentrate on one thing, SE is huge company and no1 want this, they still make great games, however with mmo's it's defferent.

I think SE have something which simply other companys making mmo's can only dream off, mmo based on best selling rpg game series in history. And now with 2 mmo's and 2 defferent direction's they should just make them most epic experience ever. I know it's a lot of pressure maybe ;D

It's SE, they have money and talented ppl to polish their mmo and make them really famous, not just for being FF titles. What I really don't want and afraid to see is that they will start releasing mmo's like just any other games, with not the best quality. FFXIV was rushed and see what happened.

It's all pointing to one question really - Do we want SE to release more new mmo's or polish and upgrade existing ones in future?

A period of great change is underway, and we ask you to bear with us. FINAL FANTASY XIV is dear to us as it is to our fans, and there is simply nothing we would love more than to see it flourish into everything it can be. And to see this wish become reality, we promise to spare no effort in delivering the ultimate battle experience to players.
Well that really answered question's in my thread, and Thank you SE <3
