Then again. Today I was in revenant's toll and I had seen a couple of shouts from certain people making parties for a CM run. They were demanding you have relic to join. You honestly needed a relic to join a story mission that you need to complete to even start a relic quest. The sheer backwards retardation of such a notion was so shocking that I refused to accept it and pass it off as a joke. While I have a relic, and near full dark light gear, I had actually refused to join something so ignorant. It was mind boggling that, here we are, little over a month in the game and hardcore players have already trashed it.

Part of the reason I ended up leaving FFXI way back when, was due to the same kind of player attitude that I'm seeing replayed in 14. I really hope it goes away, cause I'm not going to spend time in a game I love with players that ruin it for everyone else.

I wanted to get full Darklight on my Dragoon, so I've done CM speed runs on my BLM, taking relic geared players only, with one healer and one tank. Most runs are done within twenty one minutes. I'm sorry that you feel because CM is a "story" dungeon that people should bring you, this is a MMO, if you can't find yourself among friends, maybe you should rethink where your time investment is going. There is nothing elitist about wanting to finish something quicker.

I'm happy being an "elitist prick" over a "whiny child" that feels some false sense of entitlement for mediocrity.

Gonna have to stand on the elitist side of the fence here too, yeah. Normally I'd agree that people are kinda being unreasonable about their gear demands (AK gear is more than enough to speed run CM and Prae, past a point you're only shaving seconds off, not minutes), but the whole "omg these people are hardcore they are a plague on our game" attitude makes me WANT to side with the hardcore elitists.

Let people play how they want.

If you're not happy, make your own groups, your own FC, your own Linkshells.

If you can apply the "lol let all the elitist jerks play amongst themselves like a circle jerk" logic to this, then I say the counter logic of "lol let all the undergeared whine factories play amongst themselves like a circle jerk" is just as applicable. Won't you be doing the exact same thing? Grouping up based on gear, complaining about the other gear demographics?

Play how you want. Let others play how they want.

Don't force yourself on them, and they won't force themselves on you. If you don't like someone's grouping requirements, don't group with them. Make your own group or wait for another one to pop up.

Final Fantasy XIV brings out the worst in players and raises the bar well above standards of acceptable more than any MMO I have ever played. This is because the game rewards over gearing and does not reward players with top tier gear with a challenge which requires it. BCoB rewards are a complete joke for the time invested. The random dungeon finder needs to reward players to a point that it is worth a random group over grinding just 1 dungeon over and over. (WP, CC, AV are all viable end game 50 dungeons if SE tweaked them correctly.) Players with maxed gear need something of worth to invest their time in. End all be all players are just down right nasty on this game which is unfortunate. SE has a serious lack of end game material at the moment, and has easily the most terrible pacing for gear farming in many years, but its the players that are making this game hardest to stomach.

Patch 2.1 will introduce two new hard dungeons, a new raid dungeon for 24mans, and the extreme primal fights. It should, hopefully, help.

Well, I agree that people can decide who to pick in their parties, but remember that I do myself CM and Prae runs 1 heal 1 tank in less than 20 mins.

You're a healer. Your gear is the least important in there when it comes to Speed Runs.

PS: Less than 20minutes? I doubt it. If your group is really well geared than an average of 21-22minutes is usual. Less than 20minutes would take a lot more effort to shave off those minutes.

Man, I love their attack buffs *^*
But though I'll never do it in 17-18 minutes, I'm still talking of 19:30, 20:00. (Even though my cutscene skipping takes 5 seconds more than usual for every cutscene, sadly)
