I want to play a warrior, should I bother?

So as my title says I want to play a warrior, its the one class in this game that has my flavor of lore and weapon combined with heavy armor and they just look amazing but should I even bother? Now to preface my question I am not a hardcore raider but I would like to be able to complete all of the content in this game I am not looking to do hardcore progression but Is it going to be possible on a warrior or am I going to be passed over trying to get my relic because I am not a paladin not matter how skilled I am? Warrior is really the only class I want to play at the moment but I am worried that I will get to the end of the game and not be able to do anything? Anyone have any advice?

Yes, you should play as a WAR. Don't let anyone tell you they suck. There is only a "preferred" tank. Don't group with randoms and make some friends. Playing with randoms they try to take the most safest cautious way out because they don't know your capabilities. Join a FC who is willing to play with you.

And if you want to complete Coil, you can do that too. Even if we can't do it in the same gear as a PLD, with the right gear we eventually will. We could also get buffed in 2.1, so regardless you'll be fine.

You can always find groups. While some less intelligent people spam these forums saying PLD is SO MUCH BETTER then WAR, the truth is, aside from 2 specific encounters inside of coils ( also at the end of coils mind you ), warriors are great.

Came here wanted to know whether leveling as WAR worths it. After reading this, i think i might go for PLD instead :/

Aside from 2 specific encounter in coil (end game), well, that is a lot to give up compare to PLD.

I'll tell you like I tell anyone else. If you want to be a WAR, play WAR. If you want to be a PLD, play PLD. If you are a fairweather/bandwagon player... play PLD.
If you want to play a Tank, play both. IF you are not sure which you want to play.... play both and decide for yourself rather than let other people make up your mind for you. It is not too hard to grind levels in this game and you're not restricted to one class per character so there is no reason not to just play the classes and see for yourself.

i don't know how many mmorpg's you played, but there's always a delicate balance between classes about which is the best 1 at a certain role. This month it is class number 1, next month it will be class number 2.
Besides that, there will also always be fights where it is more handy to have class A, and other fights where it is more handy to have class B. So what?
atm the warrior is a bit on the downside, or maybe better, the pld is on the upside. That doesn't mean it's not fun to play warrior,or that you're not wanted to do some high end grouping.

If for nothing else, because the MRD story was pretty decent if simplistic. I called the ending after completing the first class quest, but it was still decent and meaningful in its own way.

TBH, get both PLD and WAR to 50. There are places where war is way more fun than pld, but there are also places that I wish i went on PLD. It also depends on your healer if he/she prefers sleeping stuff or lets you do AOE kill em all mayhem war style. Tanking as war when you are required to focus on only 1 target is boring, it feels like PLD.

Soon when everybody gears up more and we have most of game on farm, wariors may be desired tank, because of better dps and better hate holding on multiple trash mobs.
