    I'm new to mmos

    Yeah so FF14 is my 1st mmo, but i figured out dealing damage was a bad idea almost immediately.

    I seem to have a serious problem with tanks who have no idea how to pull emnity. Hard to heal others when running from mobs, and healing yourself.

    I dont know how many times I've been the first party member to die, and I look at the tanks skill points, and its 100%

    As a veteran WhiteMage, just my 2 cents:

    In case of failure to blame:

    1. Casting times and/or GlobalCoolDowns for imba healing mechanics,

    2. Ping (Server <-> Client resonse time),

    3. (Main) tank, who is unable to keep enmity / hate .

    Please stop throwing your thread around. People having trouble in dungeons is often due to inexperience rather than game mechanics. Enmity is hard to deal with as a WHM but, that doesn't mean we should buff WHM or make spells instacast.

    New to MMOs as well. Did first three dungeons today with mixed results. Satasha the tank ran in the second the mission started while I was reading the tutorial and died and said wtf and quit. Made it through that one right after I figured out who the tank was. Tam-tara went better as I had a little more experience as a CNJ role. Copper bell mines was a nightmare. Two players rushed into every fight leaving me with two to heal and would draw every mob around us making it hard to heal as I took damage. Then on the last boss fight they ignored the minions trying to kill the main boss quick. Well guess who the minions attack? Me and the other DPS. So I'm running around like a chicken spamming medica and somehow we beat the dungeon. The tank then states to everyone boy that healer was crap basically.
    I was enjoying the game up until that point but not sure if I should change to a tank so I could blame the healer?

    Also why can't I raise in the middle of a fight? Either that or the character disappears before I can raise them. A little frustrating. Thx.

    You can raise during battle but you must be level 28 (maybe 32, I forgot).
    You will gain an ability that will allow you to raise in battle.

    At early levels, not everybody knows to wait for a raise. But here's the thing, unless you are in a boss fight, it's better to just go back to the start and take the shortcut. The healer's casting time for raise is so slow, others could die in the meantime. It also uses a lot of mp. Then the raised character will have weakness and be vulnerable to an immediate hit before they can even move. In a typical dungeon run, it's more practical not to be raised. This does not apply to boss fights because the player cannot get back in unless the party wipes.

    The fact is, and why I hate dungeons in this game, there are a lot of gamers new to group dynamics, tank/healer/dps. Tank HAS to know how to get the aggro and keep it, off more than one mob. DPS keeps adds busy until tank can get the mob off the DPS. DPS have to know how to assist tank so they don't get aggro. Healer's job is to keep tank healed, period. They can throw heals to DPS if needed for a short time. IF healer is doing his/her job, no one has the right to blame the healer if the group fails. No one runs except towards tank, who grabs the aggro.

    See? That's why the group is made up of tank/healer/two DPS. If players can't get it right, SE needs to balance dungeons in some other way. Either that or they will lose players. Many have quit already just because of this one failure.

    I'm new to both healing and MMO's, this being the first one I've ever played in a group of people. I've been very lucky to know/have a wonderful tank that I've never gone in a dungeon without (yet), and thankfully have only twice throughout my entire dungeoning experience have had people die. (I haven't done very many.)

    I found the first few dungeons were very easy, and I sat around a lot of the time feeling useless as I was more or less informed that I should only focus on healing. However, I'm finding the healing factor becoming slowly harder, and trying to use damaging spells is out of the question if I want to keep the tanks health up.

    I'm still trying to get used to cleric stance, since I don't like using it if I don't have to, but I hope to be a decent healer for future dungeons. Still, its nice to see that being focused only on healing, even if there are times where I feel like I should contribute more, is the hopefully correct thing to do.
