A fair shot would be claiming the mob. I exclusively hunt mats on my Bard and ppl hate me for it.

Yet, yesterday a 41SMN came over to a spot I was camping Golden Fleece, one of many spots available. Tried to out camp me, tried to take advantage on my kindness by aggroing mobs just outside the hunting area on purpose to distract me to save them. After the 7th mob, I let them die and refused to raise them.

Most of the time I hunt for mats, I have no issues. Ppl respect someone's area and move to another. The only time I get aggressive is when players or a bot try and camp over me when I've clearly been there.

I understand where you're coming from...but I disagree with you. There are finite mobs for these resources for the exact purpose of making them valuable. What you want is no different than just putting a little Diremite Web dispenser in the Weaver's Guild that lets you press the button and fill your inventory up with materials.

If you want/need the mats that drop off these mobs you need to go out there and claim them. Get better at camping. Get better at farming. Beat the other people out there for the prize. When I farm the Banemites near Fallgourd Float for my own weaving needs I check the northeast camp. If there is someone there I ask how many more webs they need. If its only a few, I wait. If they don't respond or tell me something stupid like "all of them"...I study how they are camping...then break their camp. I will know when and where the next banemite spawns and just take over. They will cry and moan and complain and call me names...but then they will also end up at the auction house buying my left over Dew Threads so it all works out in the end.

If someone comes to try and take my camp away I simply beat them, they get frustrated and leave.

The point is...stop crying and start winning. It's much more fun.

Seriously? Even a slight bit of competition over mobs is already too much for people? How carebearish does this get? Just go play a single player game if you can't handle other people being out there.

I got weaver to 50 without doing a single bit of camping. I waited for leve rewards to change to web/fleece and had items ready for turn in each time. I got tons of gil, massive exp, and stacks of web/fleece. I've done similar things with leathercraft which is at 30 right now.

An alternative would be to spread loot pools:

    1. Lower level mobs of same family should drop items. Easiest way (but hard to reconcile for example antelope horns coming from does as well as stags)

    2. Add loot to the numerous enemy NPC and beastmen that are scattered throughout the camps across the wilderness. (It would be fair to say an NPC camp near antelopes would also have hunted these so would also carry their horns in their inventories) (this would be a PvE play on "PvP Full Loot" concept). I never see anyone simply farming these npc's/beastmen other than during the occasional FATE.

This. This right here is what should happen. Ornery Karakuls should not be the only sheep on the planet that drop fleece outside of levequests/dungeons. Snurble tufts should drop from all snurbles. Same thing with banemites and diremite webs.

30% applies to getting xp, hunting log credit and quest item drops

I totally skipped over Wool. I only harvested enough to make myself a set of HQ gear and that was it.

Yes, it does suck that there are 6 friggin sheep for an entire 10 lvls of a Profession. Although there are Combat leves that will may have you get some fleece....it's minuscule.

My best advice to you is to get a party from your FC to farm these with you..itll grow the odds of getting a MOB....and reward them by making them gear...thus gaining you XP at the same time

Teleport bots have fleece on lockdown.

SE, Please break the bots then kindly add it to the loot table of another mob ♥
