I cleared this with a FC friend, him on sch and me on war, while the two dps died from landslide, the second one dieing just at the end of the heart phase. Managed to duo the 50% remaining. If OP is not a troll... Well, get some better friends, and get better. Also don't stick in a group when it is obvious they won't make it, it is necessary to let people learn, but if they always eat landslide, what's the point ? Move on and try again with another group.

This is also good advice. Both on this instance and in the hardmode Titan, you won't finish unless everyone works together. If one person consistently dies, politely inform them that you will replace them. I did this several times while working on hardmode Titan, and each time the person in question was very cool about it, and acknowledged they were the one slowing the group down. Keep improving the group and you'll get there.

I hear similar horror stories from friends or fc mates that they complete titan multiple levels after the quest level (generally 3 or so levels past), but nothing quite this terrible. I must be a lucky one, my group completed it on level, though we went through 3 tries before winning.

This matches my experience. I tried titan 3 days ago with my character (lv34 whm at the time) and went through more than 10 wipes in a single group, only getting to p3 twice. One of the dps would get knocked off by landslide, and then we either wouldn't have enough dps for the heart, or I'd run out of MP spamming stone 2 on the heart and wipe in p3.

Then 30 mins later I requeued, got a group that knew how the encounter worked, and 1-shot it... but that doesn't magically make my first experience any better.

... no, the encounter wasn't 'challenging', 'hard', or 'difficult'. It was 'frustrating' and 'unfun'. Worse yet, you MUST finish it if you want to progress with the story -- which is mandatory if you want to get to the endgame dungeons.

I didn't have that much issues, although I did drop of the column a couple of times. I noticed as WHM it was a bit more difficult than as PLD, mainly because I was lagging pretty severely, and basically had to keep running to be able to avoid landslide. Also, whenever I'm there as WHM, I always get imprisoned in stone

As PLD, landslide never was directed at me, so didn't have to avoid it at all.

All that said, I'll gladly help anyone on Balmung with lower level dungeons/story mode trials/etc. Wish I could offer the same on other servers, but we'll need a cross-server friends list/party invite option for that first

I'm not asking for a nerf. Never once have I asked for one. Hell, it wasn't even really a complaint. It was more or less me just sulking out loud.

And when I hit Garuda I'll be trying over and over again till I get it done. Like this.
