Keep Fantasia as a sub reward

I'm guessing this is a direct response to my mogstation/fantasia thread

I don't REALLY want it to be paid service, I'm open to any ideas really... I just want the opportunity to obtain more.

Yes. Thanks for understanding. I was certainly going to comment in yours, but on reading, i felt so strongly that we need this in another way. If SE's community team didn't make it past the first pages, i didn't want them to go back and tell yoshi that "hey, there are people willing to pay 20 bucks for this stuff."

FFXIV is a special case regarding characters.. I could be stuck on mine for a long time..

It's a 'luxury' service, where the developer is able to cash in some extra money, which in the end aids the development of the game, it also puts people off changing constantly and affecting the 'consistency' of the world.

Perhaps if you are a developer, this kind of consistency would be welcome, but we are players!

Well.. thats not much of a point I'm just getting into the game myself, and as the systems are clicking.. I know over time this will become an issue for myself at least. While this is silly, id probably want something more along the lines of appearance slots for character looks! Actually that would be terrible..

What i know is the game is encouraging me to be one character, and after a while, you do get sick of playing one "character" more than anything else... Having to pay to cure this is not an acceptable solution... Or put back incentives to roll alts. Id be fine with that.

I VERY highly doubt it would happen, but some suggest it be added as an in-game item from the likes of your Grand Company or for Tombstones of Mythology and or Philosophy.

One of the reasons I play FFXIV, is because it does not have the "item mall" monetization technique that other MMORPGs have. It is Pay to Play without any item mall and that's a major reason why I will pay for it even during months where I do not play barely anything at all.

I have a job, I can afford to spend money on my hobby.

Don't try to drag others down due to your stingyness.

You are aware of that FF has mostly a post-teen fanbase and that this is a pay to play mmorpg, right? Practically everyone here has a job and practically everyone here can afford to pay extra. Money is not the issue.

I'd like it if it wasn't a paid service, personally. Considering this game doesn't cater to alts (albeit, I do have -one- for just me playing on my own), and that changing up race/looks/gender is fun (well, more accurately, I find the character creator fun... and if I fine-tune a really awesome look, better than the one I put together for an hour... as quickly as I could so I could play the game x.x... I'd love to be able to -use- it). I wouldn't care how many seals it would cost, or anything like that, but... spending 25$ or so would suck (which seems to be the standard, I think in GW2 changes are 20$, but you can buy the appearance change in GW2 with in-game gold).

thats actually not a bad idea. iirc when they were talking about the hymn stat change item and how they didnt want people to change stats like evryday and those are only 10k seals lol
