Jerk in Praetorium - Can be reported?

Ran Praetorium-- I'm a tank in full DL+relic+some BC gear, and felt like doing a slow Praetorium run to re-watch the cutscenes and help some newbies out. Ended up in a run with another new tank, so showed him the ropes and we both watched cutscenes.

Obviously the group was absolutely pissed both tanks were watching cutscenes and talking a lot, and one of them, some Kirei Okami from the Lamia world, kept throwing insults around, quite a bit in fact.

Is it possible to report these people, and will something be done?

Yes. Hit escape go to help desk and report harassment. Put the name of player, date, time, location (instance or in world). SE's banhammer is the fiercest out of any MMO I've ever played (since UO). I know people banned in XI just for saying one curse word not directed at anyone in particular. If someone is being abusive, report them, there will be swift justice.

I usually call people out for being bullies and being unwilling to help newer players. They either get worse and others start calling them out, or they say they didn't realize the person was new and try to get along. Surprisingly, usually they calm down.

I did have one guy go afk and the rest of the party was furious at his behavior. But honestly, the rest of the dungeon went more smoothly after he quit "helping" us. The party couldn't argue that fact either.

Unfortunately, Kirei Okami from the Lamia world is not like that. When I told him to leave the new guy alone, he just started calling us suck nerds, kept insulting everyone, demanded people hurry up, pulled without the tanks, etc.

Hilariously, he kept failing to dodge the Ultima Weapon's lasers.

Creating a witch hunt here isn't really the best way to go about things it just makes you seem like a jerk. It isn't really your duty to name and shame everyone you don't like. Block them or report them if their behavior is that serious. Or if they want to mess around just don't heal them and let them sit on the floor doing nothing. But coming on here like "oh blah blah from blah blah sucks you should hate them" is really bad.

That's my favorite part of being a tank. If someone rushes ahead while I'm watching a cutscene, I will sit there and watch them die. Wiping really doesn't bother me that much. If they insist on bitching because I watch cutscenes, I have no problem dropping the group either.

If you want to speed run through a dungeon, queue as a premade. If you queue for Duty Finder solo and are expecting or demanding a speed run, then you're an idiot.

I haven't once said people should be hating and trying to hunt them down. I stated names in the unlikely event someone else has had the misfortune of running into them, or if others might want to beware. That's all.

Under normal circumstances, being a jerk like this would get you a bad reputation on your home server. Before cross-server dungeoning was a thing, you really couldn't afford to be a total asshole, because people would remember you, and they would blacklist you. Those were the good days, when people minded what they did and said.

But cross-server, there are no consequences to being a negative part of the community so people let themselves go much easier.

I find no harm in naming names of people who make the game toxic and unwelcoming to new players who are freshly leveled up. They should be ashamed, frankly.

i went back and started leveling a dps class to try something new and queued up for satasha.

the medic i got tried to be tank and dps too. kept pulling adds, and then trying to kill them instead of healing tank.

he ended up pulling everything in the room right before the dungeon boss.
