DoL Is My Safe Haven

So I reached 50 on my Archer and was excited to get into endgame... I'm sure for those that have been there can testify that it's not a very nice place to be at the moment... So I left and decided to pick up a DoL (botany). I'm so glad I did! I don't think anyone can truely understand the beauty of the world until your actively living in it and working with the land. It's great, I wish I'd picked it up sooner. SE should really push people to get onto a DoL class, and I've found people I pass are happy to strike up conversations as well which is nice, more believable.

Well you must be in the early stages of DoL . When you get to lv 30 it gets so mind bumming. But aside from that, when you get to slow down, the world is so beautiful. I personally got hooked on the east Shroud bgm from doing DoL stuff. I ended up buying the sound track.

I also find it relaxing compared to endgame groups. I have botanist to 50 now working on Miner and using ores to craft.

Right now my highest "Story mode" job is PUG 30 and right now I have no idea which job to take up to max first, I'll see later which one(s) I truly enjoy playing.
With all I am reading on this forum and hearing from my friends about several aspects of the state of endgame at the moment (Both game and community wise) I am very glad I decided to level DoL and DoH jobs first.

I'll strife for endgame when the major problems gets fixed and the community decides to mature up, or the kiddies decide they've had enough and most of them quit or go back to whatever realm they once came from.
If none of that happens and it stays like this, as much as I enjoy crafting and gathering right now, I'll just stop my subscription after these 6 months have ended.

I have Min and Btn above 20... and I genuinely do enjoy farming a stack or so in any given location now and then. I have all DoH above 20, so it's very convenient... especially if I need something that happens to be nearby (walnut and silver near Quarrymill!)

It does get old if you stay in one location with 4 nodes for more than a stack. It's frustrating if you're just grinding on a material you don't actually need in large quantities... particular with the limitations on selling items.

I am glad to see you are enjoying harvesting. I love playing as a DoL, not as a supplement for crafting and end game, but simply for fun and profit. I love how this game gave us the option to play/level/gear up a class that is totally non combat. I am currently working on my Luminary mining tool and I am about half way done that grind.

I feel much the same way, having all my crafts and gatherers at about the same level, I go out and gather all my materials then craft things I need. The resulting item feels really close to you after all that, something you can be proud of. And any area where I've done some serious gathering in, I feel I know it so much better than some place I just sprint through trying to get to my next quest or FATE.

im personally enjoying leveling all the DoH and DoL classes after maxing my bard, kinda rushed to get to end game but the wait for tome farming is....... so all i do is level crafting n gathering classes til loads more ppl hit cap n hopefully the wait/ tome farming isnt as slow..

The way the distribution of nodes is so limited, you really get to know the world. When I took my 21 Min to get Silver Ore near Buscaron Druther's (which was way too low to be farming silver) I had to be very careful to avoid the lantraps. Then when I went to make my jewlery I realized I needed an antelope horn which were plentyful nearby around Quarrymill - which is really a crafters mecca. Meanwhile I needed some walnut to make a new gsm wheel, which was also nearby.

It's not always this convenient, nor should it be, but those areas have much more meaning to me now.
