In WoW you had add-ons playing the game for you and telling you exactly what to do on certain boss fights because everything was according to a set pattern.
No clue why they think patterns are new to MMO boss fights.
Also I guess the poster cleared Turn 5 in BCoB already, so is out of content.

I will continue to subscribe because I like the beautiful scenery and Hydaelyn's lore. The story was engaging, in my own opinion. Reading the dialogue of the NPCs around Eorzea is intriguing, funny at times, and fun to translate if it's from a Sylph, Qiqirn, Goblin, and other beast tribes with unique language settings. I'd like to know what happens next in the story, how expansive the other continents are. Eorzea is just one continent. I imagine it as either Europe or Africa, by the geography of the map. I am currently having low savings in gil, so I am trying to make money little by little by meager crafting, gathering, and selling. That pretty much takes a lot of time off my schedule. I like to think of it as a piece of art. Like, going to the Grand Canyon. You go there for the view, but you spend a considerable amount of money to experience it's brilliance (gasoline, food, water, camera tech, etc). Aside from the art, I like the music and would like to see what Soken will cook up for us next. I understand the game mechanics still need adjustments and fixes, but I have faith the developers are trying their best. I have not played any mainstream MMORPGs, so maybe my opinion is weighed lighter than those who have experienced the modern, large-scale MMOs. Maybe I like the little things in games, and I suppose that tickles my fancy quite well. I apologize if my comment irks those who are dissatisfied with the game. I apologize if you encountered the terrible gamers @ Lv. 50 content, where you just want to punch/slap them in the face. The gil/shard spammers and harassers can be a nuisance, but I built the habit of blacklisting them and reporting them in less than 20 seconds. I currently have a helpful Free Company who invites me at times (when I am not busy) to go primal fighting and dungeon crawling. Talking to them through ventrillo, learning the game through their eyes. Making different strategies to overcome a challenge. That's what an MMO is all about. I am fortunate to have found a company who is helpful at times. I hope you give this game another chance if you play it in a different perspective and make reliable friends! Equal respect and selflessness is key!

lol, I love this because I keep seeing it so often but... I always see people say, "didn't beat coil turn 5, thus they can't POSSIBLY be bored of endgame content and thus are not allowed to badmouth the endgame". Yet I imagine they've probably declared WoW easy and boring endgame-wise even though they've not completed a single HM raid.

Gee, more "if you don't love it, leave it" bleating. I thought you people already destroyed1.0 by driving your "its fantastic and Wonderful" van with your far-too-few-to-sustain-an-mmo fellows into the ground.
As it is, right now, this game has no future in the industry. None of the known changes coming fix any of the terminal issues. Most people that like this type of game are already playing one or more, and 1.0 already set the reputation at 'garbage'. Because SE listened to people like you (all 150ish thousand of you) and not millions of others.
You're the small minded one if you think your subscribing three or four whole times will make a difference SE should bank on. For every "amigahd it is perfect" bleater kept, they will lose tens if not hundrdds of others. If they could generate ten subs by doing one thing, and almost certainly not lose your two our the or for because you'll never quit anyway, should they do that thing?
What if they could keep a million subs by doing that thing, and still not risk much loss from the tiny diehard n
Demographic that would bleat "its perfect and you're just narrowminded if you don't agree" if SE dropped a turd on you're table with achocobo carved on the side?
You're already sold forever. They're not going to improve anything for you our those that think like you; you're worthless to the interest of this game being better than it is now, ever.
If you and those like you left, nobody would much notice. If we whom you handwave as being narrowminded leave again? Game goes bloop. Again. Just like last time. Just like in SWTOR.
Maybe we're not, most of us, actually narrow-minded pissants that only complain because we want something for free, or easy mode on silver platters, or a game that plays itself, or aaaany of that rubbish.
Maybe, just maybe, we'd like to be able to play the game this deserves to be, not EverWoW: Final Fantasy Themed Edition.
Maybe, just maybe, we, some of us, are accutely aware of it taking millions of subscribers to make a sub-to-play mmo sustainable. It can't just break even; that's abject failure to stockholders. Modest but non-growth profits? Might still not be worth the manpower to keep it going if those experts and the severs could be used for something more certainly profitable.
No. ARR is going to need to do well, or it may well not be doing at all, or might have gone free to play and on a skeletal maintenence schedule with no particular new content being budgeted for, a cash shop designed to rake in as much as possible before its all shut down and ...that's it.
There's the while matter simplified for you.
In order for ARR to do well, its will need to retain probably oh...500,000 or so subs, at minimum. That would likely be the thin end of the black anyway, and not a place shareholders at quarterly reviews will want to see it hanging.
SE made some very amateur and thoughtless oversights on this release. Either that, or they knew and plan to quickly finish/fix the glaring holes in the core game that WILL drive away many from this launch, and WILL keep the game highly unpopular (read; irrelevant) with the majorities.
But you go right ahead with your four subs, telling hundreds to get gone. Don't need us anyway, after all, right?
SE, your saviour has been found. When your severs have turned into numerous ghost Towns with a tiny handful getting all the remainders transfering to them, the forum is full of about thirty people, half of them insisting that everything is amazing while the other half are slowly losing their minds in the vain hope that attempting to reason with dead air has a future, this person will save you.
With his or her for subs. Problem solved!

What fixitman said was a bit harsh. @fixitman: Try saying that for those who are narrow-minded, to try to open their mind and try to experience the little things, like music, water mechanics, weather patterns, the beautiful sunrise/sunset. The starry night sky is also a beaut. Just, don't just call others simple-minded. You are just shutting them down and making them feel bad. It isn't going to fix the issue. =/

I stopped reading when the OP said endgame wasn't challenging. While I'm sure the OP is a troll and I'm just feeding him table scraps, most people do legitimately think (assume) that endgame content is easy. Those very same people more then likely have never stepped foot in the Binding Coils of Bahamut, hell those people are probably still punching holes in their walls because they can't beat Titan HM. If endgame is so "easy", then why has no one in the world legitimately cleared turn 5? Not a single person has done so, if the endgame is so easy then please bless us with your god almighty skill as a player and be the first person to clear it and post the CS on youtube because I really want to see the lore bombs that come after Twintania, otherwise, stfu.
Edit: Just throwing this in there because I know someone without the proper mental capacity to read will comment on this, take note that I said Twintania has never been beaten "Legitimately". 1 group glitched and killed her, doesn't count.

I am subbing for now.
I honestly think 2.1 is going to be the big factor on alot of people continuing to sub.
Endgame is not adequate atm. Too little choices and to repetitive. 2.1 is suppose to expand it quite a bit, but we have to see. Coil takes 2hrs to get from turn 1 to 5, once you know the fights. They really need to expand endgame alot to give people stuff to do outside spamming AK and Pretorium. There needs to at least an option for something new to do every night of the week.
If 2.1 is solid I will be here for awhile, if it is bad or subpar, or if it does not have a guild focus to it... then my sub is not guaranteed.
Subbing for now. A little disappointed but theg ame is alright, just some glaring issues you wouldn't completely expect in a P2P game model.
I'm giving it til 2.1 at least to see if they're giving 15 a month worth of content in their scheduled releases per 3 months ( From what I've seen all over the place, the patches coming in 3 month periods. )
When all is lost,
All is in vain.
When Good and Evil,
Unite in pain.
Rivers of swords must join as one,
Only then shall the spell be undone.
