Depends... it is Wednesday, October 4 in 2017. I'm hoping to get this resolved by then. Though if it keeps taking out automatic subscriptions until then(Can't change whilst under suspension) it could get expensive.

Just got my perma-ban by email.

"As your account has been terminated due to a violation, you will be unable to create another FINAL FANTASY XIV service account.
Unfortunately, you have shown yourself to be unwilling to follow the rules of the FINAL FANTASY XIV community. If we find that you have created another FINAL FANTASY XIV service account, we reserve the right to terminate that account as well in our sole discretion."

This must be a hack. I'm a member since 1.0 at launch and have NEVER participated in RMT or anything of the sort. This can't be for real.

Running around with over 8m Gil now, feels good knowing my Gil is worth 250$ instead of 50 to RMTraders.
P.S feigning innocence will not get you unbanned for buying Gil.

If you're legacy it very likely was, I don't think this "banwave" hit anyone but non legacy players.

Every single time an MMO company bans players(whether its for hacking, RMT, or exploiting), the forums become a shitstorm of people claiming they were wrongfully banned. They easily garner community support by painting the company as "the man" trying to keep the "little people" down. They spread nothing but FUD until they either give up, or the company relents and lets them off the hook. I've seen this happen in every.single.MMO.

$10 = 1m gil a week ago
$20 = 1m gil a couple days ago
$30 = 1m gil today

Square Enix.... don't relent. Don't let these people off the hook.
