that was the issue prices were so jacked up at higher levels that one was about forced to buy gil to get it. Mostly due to the "requirement" from min/maxers. Plus those trying to get items from nm before the item changes was near impossible.I can't be too angry with bots since they seem to be the main reason why there's at least something on sale at the wards. Besides gil is pretty meaningless in this game anyway so do you people really care that much?
Honestly in all years I've played XI I haven't that RMT is ruining my game experience even once. It just seems like something people complain a lot about considering how little they affect a normal player.
If anything I hope RMT manages to hike up the prices so that I feel like my gil is worth something. I miss saving up for a piece of good equipment.
You report them, and they look into the reports occassionaly (the ffxi team) and if the same rmt is reported x amount of times they will ban them after looking into it. If rmt go unreported sept for say 4 ppl, they may not do anything. My source is several threads about rmt and ppl seeing the ones they reported gone. Just because ffxiv's STF is down, don't mean rmt isn't against the policy.Source?
I don't think the STF go around looking for people wearing low level gear. Its more, monitoring strange transactions, investigating players that have been reported by players, and possible other methods too. But they're unlikely to be monitoring players who don't upgrade their equipment.

lol thats not wat i remember seeing in 11, they were a constant annoyence if u were lvling in percific zones till se decided to go to war with them and they constantly made it a pain if u were returning to the game after long periods of not playing.
oh and there deaths pretty much killed the eco but hey..
I was more saying about the "rmt is encouraged" bit. My post count or character has nothing to do with anything. It is a pain in the butt to change the siggy, and 1/2 the item I don;t even stick to a character. When I do i may change it. But it is so childish to base your opinion on just appearences. I even if my siggy shows a low end character, I may have an alt with many 50s. Nut character levels are nothing when you log off the game. And infact they are just numbers and do not truely show experience anyone can have a 50 in this game w/o knowing anything. Italso happen in ffxi. No one here is an ffxiv expert yet. the game is not even a year old.Ironic, considering the majority of the BS you spouted for a good 2000 posts before you started playing the game (and even now you claim to but don't show your actual character, but think that stupid disclaimer actually means something) was incorrect, often due to not actually experiencing the content.

Saw these last week on Cornelia. Though it could be someone multi-boxing, still kind of annoying.

Can you *demonstrate* that they are RMT?
Because if you can't, then you're faced by the same problem the special task force faces. As long as there's someone behind the keyboard of those characters there's absolutely nothing the STF can do. Dual (or multiple) boxing isn't against the TOS of any MMO.

yeah and thats something people dont understand
just cuz it has a dumb name, and is on auto follow doesnt mean its going to be catchable as a bot/rmt
there are serveral ways to avoid detection when investigated(even if you dont know you are being investigated) and being on auto follow isnt illegal unfortunately for the most part. if you got someone multiboxing as long as he is at the keyboard, its legal(and its very easy to be at 8 keyboards at once)
however if its a program auto following.....thats catchable
if they arent at the keyboard and cant respond etc etc, and various other things, thats illegal
thats how STF determines who is illegal and who isnt, they have their procedures, and "not responding to other players" isnt one of them nor "having dumb names and being on auto follow"
though that is one way it gets their attention for investigation if people actualy report them like they are supposed to

You ever think about the possibility of Yoshi-P using his full team to get the new content out asap? Why worry about RMT now they aren't messing anything up with the current economy. They will probably get thrashed after the content starts rolling out.
