So go play mabinogi then? their bard is fun for roleplaying purposes, but FFXIV did something original with it and I'm happy with it.

I hope they don't revamp it, because its a lot more than a glorified archer. It's the most unique implementation of a bard i've seen. It's actually fun to play, whereas in FFXI it was the most boring job in the game. The songs are useful, it does good damage, and sometimes that non-healer having the healing limit break is actually a blessing.

Just because it wasn't crafted in the image you had in your mind doesn't mean it's a bad class with problems or needs revamping.

Bard in XIV isn't original lol, it's the same style as other Bards, especially western style, with less utility.

What other game has bards that shoot with a bow? I can't think of one. I love the design of the Artemis bow especially, I wish that all BRD bows were set up like that- bow harps. original weapon design, original class design.

Bard is not based on a rogue/assasin archetype. FFXIV bards do not sneak around and murder things, they don't use daggers, and have next to nothing in common with the archetype in general.

I...wh..what? Bard in XIV isn't original lol, it's the same style as other Bards, especially western style, with less utility. XI's bard was more original and more in line with how they've done it in FF games up to that point. Bard in MMOs were always branched off Rogue or an Assassin type class if not given a unique instrument (Guitar, Mandolin, Flute etc.) Though you could have been sarcastic..
