    Gold Spammers are ruining FF14

SQ-E needs to do something about all the Gold Spammers out there. I've reported all I've seen yet they just keep coming. I turned off Shout but now they are using Yell and tell features and they too are getting out of hand. IDK what can be done but it seems WoW didn't have this problem , neither does Aion, nor Star Wars. PLEASE SQ-E don't let these people keep ruining the gameplay.

I made a new chat window that has yell and shout off for when I'm in the city or even out and don't want to see the fate shouts. I noticed yesterday a few were in the market area using say

Gil buyers are ruining the game. If there is no demand the supply drops.

Instead we got gil buyers posting sob stories how they got banned.

Indeed, this is the worst RMT spam I've ever seen. In other MMOs they're practically nonexistent.

It's partly conjecture but I think 1.0 is to blame. The RMT were allowed free reign there and they massed so much money that they are now desperate to liquidate it before the FFXIV launch hype dies down.

If this is true, I expect we'll be reeling from the "birth pain" for a while to come. I agree it's incredibly stressful to have to see their presence everywhere you go, but it's likely a very large undertaking tracking them all down.

I hope, for SE's sake, the new daily quests being introduced in 2.1 will give people a way to gain more money. Less desperation means less gilbuyers. Less gilbuyers means less sellers. Less sellers means a happy paradise of joy for us all. ♥

P.S. And can we please get a one-minute cooldown on /shout and /yell? I can't see much of a reason for anybody to type that frequently in those channels, RMT or not.

There's no rmt if people arent buying gil. Blame players that buy money rather than poor guy trying to make easy money. If they shout so much it's because it's working.

    *snip*
Except that in some cases I think the new servers are far worse than the legacy servers when it comes to the RMT crap.. completely anecdotal with no way to prove this of course.

And I do the same thing as someone above, I keep shout/yell in their own tab and only flip over to it if I'm looking for something, which helps quite a bit.. SE already fixed the issue where the RMT could flood it so fast that you couldn't actually get the name down to blacklist/report.

the price of gil has gone from 4$ to 25$ oer mil in a week on my server, so something is going in the right direction. I guess when they banned the ppl with to much gil they nabbed alot of them.

Noticed this on Hyperion as well, increase in cost is a good indicator of lack of supply

edit: note that silverhope is on Cactuar != legacy server == no backlog from 1.0.
