The only problem is, you can't watch the cutscenes later at the inn, because they're not there.

I had my first Castrum run dissolve because they wanted to speedrun, and I wanted to watch the story. After it happened a second time, I finally agreed to skip cutscenes because I wanted to continue, and I was told I could watch them later.

Cut to me hours later in my room after completing Praetorium, and finding none of the cutscenes other than after defeating already Ultima Weapon. So I now have no idea what took place between Castrum and the ending.

All the cutscenes are there in the inn. Some are under story and some are under duty.

Seems to be common now days, personally if we have a new player I let them watch the cut scenes and wait a couple of minutes before fighting the boss. I think square enix are going to patch the speed runs, since I don't think they like the things that are happening in the game now, but not sure though.

Worse than WoW? Do not think so. In WoW I solo'd all dungeons at lower levels because I could not stand that horrible community at all. The alternative was to have an overleveled friend to run with me so we could do it. That is how horrible that community is. Here I do even use the DF and I have very seldom been truly unhappy about a group. Heck, people even talk to each other which is very rare if it even ever happens in WoW.

So yeah, community is better. You can atleast level dungeons without problems and learn the actuall dungeon and it's mechanics while playing.

I agree with this point but CM is only the starting point. all the really rude people are on AK atm

Yeah, the community is by far, by far the worst I've had the displeasure to be a part of. I think the way the end game is set up only encourages it, with the huge focus on speed runs.

It's honestly as if they designed the game around bringing out the worst in people.

This game has it's share of retards and idiots. Same as every big MMOs that comes out. But is it worst then WoW? no. The percentage of retards that I find in the duty finder is actually low compared to the astronomical number in WoW.

Note that I stopped playing WoW after the retard fest that was Throne of thunder... Really? complaining that the tanks are bad because it's their first time fighting so and so boss, on the FIRST night said boss is released?

I've been playing WoW since release and I actually like it's community a lot. Sure, you'll cross paths with obnoxious douches now and then, but that's normal.

The first person that whispered me in WoW, was a level 60 druid that asked me if I was new to the game. We chatted a bit and he gave me 10 gold to start out. I have myriads of similar anecdotes.

What did surprise me was the attitude of players in FFXIV dungeon content. When a DF group is formed in FFXIV half the time it disbands before the first pull, because other's aren't in full DL gear. Personally, I've never, ever seen a dungeon group disband in WoW because one player wasn't in BiS gear.

Yesterday we did Titan hard. The first 5 DF groups disbanded before the first pull because 1 or 2 people weren't in full DL. Eventually we killed it with a PuG from the server. 5 dps, 2 healers, 1 tank and neither of them in full DL.

    If I had to make a worst to best community list it would be;

    FFXI - horrible
FFXIV - bad, close to horrible
    GW2 - nice
WoW - nice (relative to the amount of players)

As a healer who regularly runs with a tank, the first words out of my mouth to any group is "If you want to watch cutscenes, go for it. Don't let anyone stop you. "

If anyone has a problem with people playing the game the way it was intended, they can get over it, because the cutscenes will be watched and we won't be leaving. If they want to leave, suits me- DF will replace them easily enough

Did you ever actually play any of those games besides WoW? If you're comparing WoW to FFXIV alone, I can understand the confusion. Otherwise...
