Initiating Battle Regimen with a Gamepad

Thanks as a whole to this thread, I was completely unsure as to how you actually started, and then fired off, a Battle Regimen until then. I'd been doing the horrible work around of mashing the keyboard buttons for it mid battle, though I haven't done one for a while. Thanks to all involved.

If you have BR set to a button like "Square" you can just press this button over the ability that you want to use in your BR. It'll do the stacking animation and then queue up that particular action/spell.

System itself is still cumbersome as hell.

I remember you used to be able to find this information on keybindings in the beta forums, but since launch a lot of that information seems to be lost.

Thank you so much. I too was driven nuts by it. It didn't make any sense to me and the current documentation didn't give controller players the appropriate direction.

The hell? Why didn't they just make it the same button that initiates it?

because you should close BR when you want close it, not because you have pressed the button twice.

I disagree. It's counterintuitive to put it on a different button. You can't stack more than 1 command per character at a time anyways. If you could I could understand that point.

While I don't think it's been on there forever as Battle Regimens used to work differently, I'll be the first to admit that I never checked the controller layout since they implemented the new system for controllers.

You used to have to select the battle regimen button as it used to be selectable on the action bar. Then, when you were in BR mode, you'd select the skill you wanted to stack by highlighting the command and pressing the [X] button. When you wanted to execute the battle regimen, you would then select the Battle Regimen button again.

It is much better now as there are considerably less motions involved to select and execute commands.

I'd still prefer if they would put it on the same button, but now that I know what button you need to press I can easily teach myself otherwise and free up a Macro Slot.

it's not for your skill, it's because you could launch the BR before others had stacked.
Sometime I click 2-3 times the br's button because I'm not sure if the server has taken my input.

well when i say forever i meant every time the controls changed that page changed.
