looks like most people agree bard need a nerfing. Sooner is better. another choice is boost all other class DPS by 30% including tank.
Tbh i'd like to see our "spam" filler ability [heavy shot] to be turned into a 1.5/2 sec cast. Would make it less boring than smashing the macro to pop everything (macro with heavy shot, bloodletter and mysery's end)5 offensive buff with short duration and long CD = burst.
During a burst phase with bard, you easily go over 300 dps.
Bard definitely needs a nerf in my opinion. Too much advantages and utility. Even if we were last in dps, we would still be group for songs and silence, so there is no need for us to be that strong.
One way to "nerf" us would be to have channeled attack, this would lower our advantage on moving fights and less easy to play.
you'd think that someone who has BRD and MNK at 50 would be able to see their pros/cons clearly, but i guess not lol
brd brings a myriad of utility along with respectable ranged dps (with low execution requirement). in my eyes the only reason people should call for nerfs on bards is because their average practical dps is higher, due ease of execution (longest range dps, position independent), and because of their wide range of utility (10% dmg debuff, songs, silence, bind)
mnk brings highest physical dps, highest mitigation for a defensive class (foe), traited mantra. mnk dps has a moderate execution requirement but you can definitely have 100% uptime of GL3 turn 1-4. for players who aren't proficient enough to do so, then a BRD would do more dps yes, but with proper execution there is still good reason to bring mnk to coil outside of their LB even.

If you did coil you will know Melees are just waste healer's mana (especially on turn 4) due to attacks like Headspin. Personally I switch between MNK and BRD depending on which turn we are on.
The main reason people use 2 bards is song stacking. Considering you need 2 magic damage and 2 physical damage for turn 4, that would make no space or melee.
Lets not mention in turn 2 having 2 bards is ideal for silence. Yes you can rotate silence with PLD and BRD, but if someone takes a mistake you are screwed. In Turn 2 I save Perfect Balance just for those moments.
Its useless to have high DPS if there is no slot for you. Bard brings too much utility to pass up, and stacking songs is ideal. Before you think I am lieing:

Anyone have seen what rol fit bard in DF? Oh yes DPS. Here is not support rol... I know that playing Bard is easier that play any melee dps but my bro is playing dragon and knowing the fight mechanics he is doing SO much damage than me...

How about we keep everything the same as it is but instead of having free/unlimited arrows Bard actually needs to buy arrows from a NPC in order to use their skills, once the arrows run out, they can't use anything that require an arrow anymore (which leaves them with only songs). Also, different skills require different arrows, for example Heavy Shot needs Heavy Arrows, Straight Shot needs Straight Arrows.... etc. Once a type of arrow runs out, they simply cannot use that specific skill anymore.
Any thought about this?
Arrows used to be a thing in version 1.0. I dont really like it because it favors the wealthy Bard, rather than the skilled Bard. Imo they should get rid of the MP costs when singing, so that a single Bard can do all the songs for the party, rather than being in need of multiples (of course song stacking would need to go too). How about we keep everything the same as it is but instead of having free/unlimited arrows Bard actually needs to buy arrows from a NPC in order to use their skills, once the arrows run out, they can't use anything that require an arrow anymore (which leaves them with only songs).
