That doesn't make you guilty of anything. If you had no reasonable way of knowing that you were purchasing stolen property, you are not legally accountable and you're also entitled to compensation if the property is returned to its rightful owner.

I worked for a cable company that did this kind of thing, well one of the techs. We had a gov housing project that was constantly having people stealing cable service which caused all kinds of issues on our part, people going in hacking lines up and such half the time we couldnt look at the terminal area and know what wire went to what. So a tech gets the great idea of disconnecting everyone and then the people that had legit service would call in for no service and the people that were stealing it would lose service.

I think they are doing this here, the people that were legit will be on their arse to open their accounts back up and the people that used RMT call in SE knows which accounts to research.

So the list gets prioritized to which ones to scan instead of scanning all accounts over 1m.

That doesn't mean they're not entitled to compensation. They have the right to pursue legal avenues to get it. There's a difference between "able to pursue this" and "it'll work."

And if the property isn't in your hands and you already sold it? The money you made on it is still yours. You made it legitimately.

I don't think this is right. A Legit Lv.50 Crafter selling HQ i70 gear for high dollar isn't wrong. It's not their fault someone who buys gil purchased the item. SE needs to follow the money and find the source. Player X bought a Vanya Coat for 2million. Find out where Player X got 2 million, no need to suspend the seller.

Also this make me nervous because I was going to skip using ToP to buy i70 and instead purchase mats to sell for GC house. Now I'm not so sure....

Nobody is entitled to anything. We pay for access to the game , at any time they want to SE can remove/change whatever they want with absolutely no reason and no due compensation to the players. If they do compensate, that's a gift of courtesy.. not a requirement. This includes removing gil from assets without putting anything back ( sold items ). This will probably happen to a few people too.

I agree let's start with YOUR account; you are a level 50 Alchemist, Goldsmith, AND Weaver, you probably sell items on the market board probably for a profit. PROVE that you didn't cheat or bot in some way, PROVE that you didn't sell to an RMT or a gil buyer.

I also have tons of gil and I am not worried one bit about a ban because I did everything legit. You bought or sold gil or you botted I am 100 percent sure of this if you got banned. SE is not going around banning people just cause of the amount of gil they have. And btw I have Whm and botony at 50 and blm at 47 if SE was just banning people for their hard work id of been one of the first to get it.

Yeah cause it really make sense to buy 10-15 millions gils and just sit on it doing nothing right? I made a fortune cause i was the only lvl 46+ miner on my server for several days, I didn't sell any 2 stars HQ stuff and still made a million per day selling DS ores at 13k a pop, gold sand and gold ores at 9k, mining pet at 15k, grade 3 matter at 4k, not to mention the gils I made from being the first to unlock electrum and cobalt too as well as HQ rare mats. You have no clue what you are talking about so I suggest you just slowly walk away.
