Could always stop charging such crazy prices for anything of lv 50+ gear, then you wont make so much, won't be banned so much and people like me could actually afford to buy stuff![]()

Ah, but will facing north-by-northeast at 2:45 a.m. while the moon is a waning crescent result in a 27% increase in your chances to synthesize HQ mythril ingots!? That is real the question! ~Fernehalwes~
Here's the rub. Yes, everyone who made their gil fairly has cause to be angry but the fact they were affected is testament to just how far RMT are going to look legitimate. It's getting harder for Square to tell the RMT from the honestly successful, so they have little choice than to get out a shotgun and bandage up the ones that bleed, to use a zombie horror example. All the ones you see shouting in the city centers? Those are akin to those kids on the sides of roads twirling signs. They aren't the business, they're just pointing you in the direction of. I get that people are unhappy with this arrangement, but if you know of a better way I'm sure Square would love to see it. Nothing hits the bottom line like an angry customer and a shotgun is just going to make for alot of angry customers.
Append: Just quoting myself from another thread. Seems relevant.
This MAY sound ridiculous, but being that you were suspended and not terminated, I believe they could possibly be doing it to see whether or not your Gold is coming from illegal/exploitative sources. Just a theory though.Reposting from other thread:
I made over 13 million gil on my character by being one of the first high level crafters being able to make relics and one of the first high level gatherers, I did NOTHING illegal and never associated with RMT or the like. My account was also suspended. (This was my character "Lalafell Lafell" on the server Gilgamesh)
I'm at a loss though, this sounds weird to me. I know Gil Sellers and the like are an issue in FFXIV, but banning people for having a LOT of Gil? I don't know, to me this does not seem like something SE would do purely to remove players with high amounts of Gil for whatever reason.

If innocent people are being suspended, then there is no "investigation". The amount of logs that have to be read through must be staggering. It's just easier to suspend people with a certain amount of Gil.
Right now having a lot of Gil is a liability, if I were you I would blow all my Gil on something and let someone else deal with the Gil.
The question is, what is a safe amount of Gil to have?
"yawn"
Nothing new here.
Im still new to this game and even I know 1mil gil is not that much.
Geez my husband has slowly levelled all craft classes except for GSM which I have at 50 and Alc, which he has at around 25. The rest are either 47-48 or 50. He has more than 1 mill gil and less than 2 mill. We both have gatherers max level as well, and get everything we need for crafting ourselves. He earns alot of gil by supplying the market with materials or HQ items. If they are banning people with 1mill gill and up, just for playing the game as crafters rather than adventurers I dont even know where to start. I was of the impression that this game could be played as either or both. I can easily see that crafters and gatherers make a lot more monnies than battle classes, which is to be expected. But to see replies in this thread from people who are clueless about how to make gil, state that someone like my hubbie would only have gotten his gil from rmt, makes me so mad at the community. There has got to be more brains between us than that.
Also, I have around 500k being a complete lazybutt about crafting, so I know it is easy to make gil. I could have had several million if I bothered putting up all the materia grind rings etc. - So to everyone believing 500k is the most you could make legitimately. You are ignorant, and shouldnt go around accusing hardcore crafters the way you are. It is rude and insulting and completely out of line.
you and hubby are safe , don't worry. Whoever said 1 mil+ is wrong.Geez my husband has slowly levelled all craft classes except for GSM which I have at 50 and Alc, which he has at around 25. Like you said, battle classes don't make much gil. Things are priced for a lot of gil at later levels, not to mention primal clears being sold. That creates a demand for gil, rmt come out and play their business. Crafters put expensive out of reach for most battle class items on market, that guy sees rmt shout, buys gil then buys your item. It's a vicious circle that is HARD to track. The gil shouters are not the real holders of the gil, so to find out who it is.. they must freeze anyone with a substantial amount of isk. They will do it properly, and only the ones who really did profit with real $$ will get banned.. however, ilegal rmt money may be removed from some crafters/primal sellers if it can be proven the money was bought with $$ before it made its way to you.
Is that part unfair.. in a way yes, but also no.. it's a lesson for all to learn from if you ask me. We all created this demand
There was a reason SE did the denomination thing with our gil and reduced costs of everything.. and it wasn't for us to put stuff back up at 1.0 prices

I can make 15k pr hq item of a certain level, easily selling 4-6 pr day as long as I space it out. - So it is very easy to make gil. It doesnt require investigating my account. It requires that someone in the department plays the game as a crafter and spends time on it in order to understand how the market works from day to day. If they actually had a person with that kind of know how, they wouldnt have made these blanket bans. Its an embarressment for them.
If you find several items with appeal you make several 100ks a day if you can be bothered. If they want to ban or suspend accounts they also need to prolong the free play time before sub kicks in for those players who are greatly inconvenienced by the bans.
That doesn't make you guilty of anything. If you had no reasonable way of knowing that you were purchasing stolen property, you are not legally accountable and you're also entitled to compensation if the property is returned to its rightful owner.Think about it...
If a RMT sold you a stolen car, then you gave that car to me... is it suddenly legal for me to have it because I didn't buy it when it was first stolen?
It's the same thing but to a much lesser extent. The same rule applies though.
If Gil is illegal for any reason, it stays illegal. It doesn't pass around a few people then suddenly become ok.
