    Just wanted to point out one more consideration that SE may have: as far as I can tell, very few Japanese players are interested in using voice chat.

    Well...asia is big on texting. In fact their textings are emails and is actually more preferred then actually voice on phones among teens. We are the ones that are "backwards" in this case(because our carriers plans are just greedy).

    Generally speaking though, text is superior when it comes to documentation with the closest thing we have is visual voicemail. Who said what has generally always been a problem we have yet to fully solve

    That and you can't make funny emotioncons with voice, heh
