A ward can only hold X amount of retainers. If it's full and you try to put your retainer there the system won't allow you. Since retainers are no longer reset when the game is patched or due to random crashes you're effectively locked out of that ward until someone removes their retainer and you get lucky to be the next guy in there.

Due to the way the tax system works this is unacceptable. I don't wish to sell my weapons in the wrong ward and lose 3% of the sale price due to higher tax. In a real economy this would be passed on to the consumer but this is not viable in a game.

When the battle ward is full, battle ward #2 should open up. It's an easy fix.
They shoudl change the wards in a way so you go in there talk to the "ward/counter npc" and do your business with her (similar to an AH) then you can link all these wards together and you dont need to have all these retainers to be there "physicaly", which means less stress on the servers and on your nerves and the people wouldnt just hang out in uldah, since they can buy/sell everything anywhere they want and have the same chances. win-win.
Adding more wards would make it even worse imo. The system isnt made for an mmo with many people. At the moment SE can only hope for a server being close to dead since otherwise well have constant crashes and full wards...

They set too many limits to players and to themselves. They should give up on that stupid idea already...

FFXI now linked the AH all together if im not mistaken for a reason. they should do the same in ffxiv, since its all "instanced" anyways. If it wasnt instanced it would be another thing, but since it is... would only be stupid not to do it.
Everything that can help the game be more user friendly atm should be done. Content ofc is another story.
