I think that there is a general consensus that the the exploitation of the Twintania bug was deliberate and technically against the rules, it is difficult to argue otherwise.

However, I am not without sympathy. Like many others, the lead group in my FC has been banging their heads against the wall on that fight for a couple weeks now. Were I in a position where I had been faced with this bug after hours of attempts, I am unsure how I would have reacted. I am not particularly outraged that the decision was made to finish the encounter in the heat of the moment after who knows how many attempts, I might have done the same. I see it as an understandable and forgivable mistake. Some responses from the community have been unnecessarily harsh. They have been upfront about their kill being illegitimate, so in no way do I see this tarnishing the reputation of the first to finish Turn 5 without taking advantage of a bug.

Yoshi P (and probably by extension, the Battle Team) seem very confident about how difficult they made the content in Coil and how few people will be able to complete. The fact that they went conquered the only content still virgin through unscrupulous means will earn them no sympathy on the part of anyone in the company.

I don't see this ending well for them at all.

It's up to SE- they know what happened.

If they take the gear away, then the FC is no better off for the "win". If they want to take drastic measures like banning, that's their call. I don't know why that would be necessary, but it's their game.

Yes, it is unfortunate- but I care a lot less about this than gil spammers, harvest bots, crafting bots, and all the other cheating in this game.

I can tell you though that you don't have to use Xilrasis's brute force strategy - it probably works for them because of their group composition + extra gear (they were one of the first FCs into coil). There is nothing wrong with feeding fireballs unless we later find out there is a hard enrage timer and you need to shave some time off phase 2.

The point, though, is that most FCs are never having to put Fireballs into the Conflag.
They can soak all of them and never get overlapping Waxen Flesh.

We're getting this so often that we have to put most of them into a Conflag.

Given their history, you might be right. That statement is a little dramatic for my taste, though. As if new content can be deflowered and ruined for all of those who clear it afterwards. I guess I just don't understand the cost to the community, especially given that they will be unlikely to keep their spoils. Perhaps if they started spilling the beans on the lore and any follow-up quests it would spoil some of the fun, but they have not yet done that.

That's the point. I was just imagining Yoshi P's possible reactions to this news and I just heard a funeral march. If you annoy him, who's going to vouch for you? They were referring Hydra and Chimera when they gave a ban warning and they go off and exploit the hardest fight in the game? If they get off on this, I'll eat my axe blade.

This is the only thing that worries me. The communication between the players and the devs seems to be very week, and the dev posts that do come seem to be written very distant, not interacting with any actual comments made, so I don't think it would be out of the ordinary if they still haven't read the report. I'm worried they still haven't learned of the exploit's existence or even the kill itself.

Don't really know what other FCs are doing. Have only seen one stream and they were still wiping to phase 2. Just do what works for your own raid. Your luck with loot drops matters. Example: Our second raid group has almost zero Allagan on their DPS, so they have to feed fireballs.

excuse me, does anybody here have some tips for a monk in turn 2? i'm currently on silence duty and i find it hard to time my opo opo stance to high voltage. we only have 1 bard. should we get a 2nd bard or something?

How do you actually soak these fireballs? And what prevents stacking of waxen flesh? The fireball just rapes us with no chance >_>
