Yeah I agree walking npcs would add some flavor to things. Nice ideas ^^

love the idea, give cities some flare

I realize the impossibility of replicating concept art, but it's like they didn't even try.
Feel free to use a larger color palette if you do ever decide to add to the world.![]()
To be honest, I think the video seemed kind of bland. Some of the concept art was cool, but everything they showed in-game was what we have now.Video: Eorzea ― The Making of a Realm #4

I believe the outside environment is pretty cool, especially cassieopia hallow (sp?), but the cities are just seriously lacking that Final Fantasy look to them! (I'm not talking about the structures, I mean the decorating schemes like mentioned in the first post.)

Haha yeah, Anty. I wonder when they're going to Nuke the Blackshroud. Though, I'm more interested in the two major cities, Ul'dah and Limsa.

I also have a post similar to this, but it mainly deals with the lack of anything going on in the cities, and the lack of NPCs.
In XI, I could tell what kind of city was what based on landmarks, just by looking around:
Windurst: Huge trees, lots of vegetation, and they had Cardigan robot type npcs used as guards. This was a city built to thrive along with Nature. The major tree in the middle of the city was ENORMOUS.
San d'Oria: It has oldschool medieval tones to it. It was definitely a more secluded city, but it had things to remember it by.
Bastok: Obviously a miner's city. You can tell by the gears and it even has a mine directly in the town. They were the industrial city.
In FFXIV, however, all I know is that:
Limsa: Major Port city
Gridania: Secluded middle of the woods boring zone with nothing really spectacular to look at. It's like a lesser version of windurst without the "wow" factor of the large trees.
Ul'Dah: Supposed to be a wealthy city-state, but you won't find more than 50 NPCs in the entire city. A City that's supposed to be "over-flowing" with people.
I really hope that when the Grand Companies are added, they add some color and NPCs!

Insulting people in the counter argument isn't going to change their minds. It will make them stick harder to their opinion regardless of whether or not it's right, and think less of your opinion simply because you insulted them. In essence, if you want to try and change someone's mind, come up with a well thought-out response and don't be a dick.
Yeah I know, I posted the link in your thread because I really want the devs to notice this. Anyway, yeah, I've mentioned that about Ul'dah being a "wealthy" city and yet the npcs are sparse and such. And why isn't there much of an army? Sure there was "peace" when the game started, but threats have mounted since we met our first group of characters. Wouldn't they be creating an army? And Wouldn't they be posted in town? There're only 3-4 guards.I also have a post similar to this, but it mainly deals with the lack of anything going on in the cities, and the lack of NPCs.
