Main Quests question.

Im almost 50 by the time, so I could just zerk FATEs until the end and leave the main quests behind, but Im wondering what the impact of completing them all in the end game for someone fresh 50. The Cons are spending time doing them, but what are the Pros of doing them all since you will be a fresh 50?

My understanding is that you basically can't participate in the end game if you don't complete the main storyline. Completing the storyline unlocks some very important end game content, notably Amdapor Keep.
