Tiny Lalafell Blues

Thanks, Denzel, for making this post. You've helped me come to the decision to ditch being a male Miqo'te and go back to being a Lalafell as I was all throughout 1.0. I only even made the change 'cause I knew a second Fantasia would be coming, but I didn't know for sure if/when I'd use it. But now I know for sure, when my remaining 21 free days are up, it'll be time to set things right. :3

I really like my Lalafel just liked like I enjoyed being Taru on FFXI but the only thing that makes me a sad panda is having the camera so close to the floor. As the chase cam follows you you always tend to look slightly down so you miss all the great scenery in Eorzea unless you actively look up at it. Then you can't see where you're going.

Tab targetting big monsters up close can be a pain too, sometimes if their heads are off the top of the screen I can't target them even with the mouse. Dunno how much taller chars have that problem.

I love being a lalafell and well I do not see anything wrong with their armor and weapons on them, they are small thus their armor and weps are built for their size. It would be absolutely rediculous to see a Lalafell holding a highlanders size sword. Heck even as a scholar it would just be silly to hold a book bigger than the ones they got seeing how small their hands are, how spells are cast with them ect.

We also get the best views in the house and our expressions are flat out priceless.

Think very, very carefully before you make any decision to change your character. I played a few different races in Beta and the experience was NOT the same. Yeah, sometimes the armor looks weird as a Lala, and sometimes camera angles aren't the best.

BUT

The way you interact with others, and they way they interact with you is unique to the Lalafell. Trust me. You can go up to random people and emote at them, and know that they are grinning behind their computer. You can have entire conversations with people just via emotes. The game feels very different when you're a Lalafell, and I would not give that up for anything.

Sounds like me, but with Elezen-Roe. In XI I was a Galka and really liked mycharacter. In XIV 1.0 I was Elezen (currently as well) and I really like the character....but I miss my XI character

I love my lala and have no problems with the way my armor/weapons look. Sure my staff goes through the bill of my wizards hat but who cares. Its only 2013 some graphical clipping is to be expected.

Lala pride!! I love my lala. I was very nervous to turn my legacy character into a lala (was originally miqote) and it took me a few months to finally decide, but I'm very happy I did. With 1/3 of the population being miqote, I pretty much can't stand the cat people now, tis a shame. (I played mithra in XI and I'm an avid cat lover irl.) I just LOVE how tiny my chocobo companion is, and how tiny my crafting tables are. :3 I've had multiple people, especially other lalas, come up to me while I was fishing or out and about and wave/bow/etc to me.
