Wrong. People that cannot handle the content should not be able to move on. This is why we have so many fail HM primal pugs. Bads get carried through so now everyone else has to deal with them and are not getting paid for it.
No all of the bad players bought a titna run and will now be trying to get into BC runs.I happily paid for a clear because while I am a good player, the same cannot be said of most PUGs. Rather than suffer, I chose to circumvent the nightmare. Now I have a better shot at forming a group for BC or joining an existing one without being stymied by bad players.
Most the people I've seen pay for runs generally do respectable damage and survive until the end, when questioned they just say they couldn't find a group or some similar reason.
It's lame but when we're able to make 500k a kill on our server in about 7 minutes it's hard to pass up. It's a regular practice in most MMOs now.
Agree, people that cannot handle crafting double meld lv 50 weapon should not be able to move on. Bad can just go to the marketboard and buy question. That is totally unacceptable.
While I am not high enough level to go on these runs yet, I have played games where this occurs. I agree with you Kirea, it is sickening, and what is worse is they act like they obtained it by pulling an act of congress. I typically add these people to my blacklist. I do not group with people not willing to put in the leg work because a lot of the time, they have no idea how to play their class. This isn't a flame thread so go elsewhere for that i just wanna see peoples opinions of it
I see people constantly shouting to buy runs and people shouting to sell them i know you play the game your way but it's sickening to see these people running around with relic after buying a titan run then shouting acting like they're experienced enough to go on to coils...
I dunno i guess it's also kind of a rant
I'll chime in as someone who has been selling quite a few runs lately.
We do it for 2 reasons: 1, the money is good for us. I was one of the server-first GSMs, so I'm not hurting for money, but it's a good way for our Coil group to get some cash, as well as some spare change for food. We're running 3-4 people a night at 800k each, which is a price that beats pretty much anything else short of selling tome consumables. 2, for us it's a nice warm-up before we dive into Coil for the evening. We can do a 7-man run of Titan HM, and since it's a bit longer that way, it's a nice way for us to shake off sleepiness/not having played all day and get into a good mechanical rhythm. And if we can do that, while also making a bit of cash, why shouldn't we?
There are always exceptions, but if someone pays for a run who clearly doesn't have the skill to down Titan HM, they won't even make it through Caduceus, and their flaws will be immediately apparent.
Heh, I wonder if everyone in this thread feels that they are better than those that have bought a titan run.
I haven't yet, but if I had the gil for it, I definitely would.
Titan is not worth my time anymore. Its not a fun fight for me, especially as a bard, and as I've decided to play summoner instead I just want my relic out of the way so I can work on getting my summoner relic.
I know the fight, I've done it nearly a hundred times now. How does it make you better than me that you've lucked out and found a pug group that can dodge everything? How does that speak to your personal abilities?
Its remarkably easy to dodge everything in that fight as a bard. I know this. So for me, its just a painful, log in, do titan for an hour or two today, log out when we invariably fail.
My time is worth more than this, and if gil selling was legal, you bet I would've bought millions of gil and gotten myself carried through this. I play the game to have fun, not to be frustrated by pickup groups.
So for me, if I do buy a run, I certainly will be pulling my own weight. You'll see me alive till the very end, I guarantee it. Think of it as more of paying to temporarily join a good, geared, competent FC for a while.
My FC, being the first to down HM titan on our server decided to start selling it for 350k, we have sold many many kills and out of all the buyers, more than half of them were actually good players that didnt fail at the mechanics of the fight, they were just tired of grouping with other bad players that fail everytime. Their is nothing wrong with providing a service like this
it's not about being better at it but rather a players integrity. I actually have fun on titan for some reason, when i started titan i died near the start, as i practiced when latency doesn't play it's annoying game i usually die around 15-10% hp why? because i suck at dodging if you feel your time is so valuable my question is: why are you playing an mmo in the first place, they're a time/money sink <3
