It's unfortunate first-timers have to pay for this game's poor design and community. :\ If anyone complained at you watching the cutscenes, just ignore them. Cheers to the people sending out an invite.

To be clear I was saying once you run through the dungeon the way you want too we will still be tome hunting to get the complete DL gearsets for everybody in our FC and doing HM Primals. If you wanted to tag along we wouldnt mind.Just to be clear, are you saying to contact you should I change my mind or that you wouldn't mind going through the whole thing completely to help me out?
If the latter, then I think I might respectfully decline. I don't like the idea of taking up the time of seven other people who are not first-timers and are already going through the same dungeon multiple times routinely.
I'd just feel terrible about it.
Also, I'm currently not on. Going to bed.
Skipped quoting the whole thing. Unfortunately indeed this is a problem for the players who play the story through the first time and want to watch the cutscenes. The ones who did it first watched the cutscenes, after that they are the ones who started complaining about other people watching the cutscenes, so those other people were like "ok, well if you say so, I'll just watch them at the inn", then those people who did it again said to the next people that they should skip the cutscenes because they had to skip them and so on, it's an endless circle.
I stood by my rights to watch the cutscenes as I progressed through the instance, even though for me as well the whole group was saying for me to skip them, well I had read earlier that some cutscenes you CANNOT view at the inn (I still don't know how much truth there is in this) but I didn't want to take my chances on missing any scenes. I was bitched throughout the whole instance when I watched them, but yes, it was worth it for ME, I didn't even take it on being selfish (as they complained) I had my rights to view them and I did and it was a pleasure and the story was really nice!
So.. DO NOT GIVE IN ON IT! Watch them and be proud that you did, no matter what people say or complain. You have the right for it.![]()
Playing devil's advocate here - you are expecting other players to want to follow YOUR suit of watching cutscenes. Even if this was the intended way to run through the first time, the game allows you to skip cutscenes for a reason. I feel sorry that you keep encountering people who force the skips, but if you really want it that bad, be proactive about it and form a group.
My first time through was a speed run, I watched the cutscenes and they just kind of ignored me and carried on. I was there on the bosses, and they didn't seem to mind anything else.
form your own group and do it the way you want it don't rely on DF, it's a cesspool.
WATCH YOUR CS's.
A DF party should not expect 'flawless speed run' you get what you get. No one should be rushed out of CS's esp the climatic 45+ ones. So watch them, explain to your group that you are new, willing to particpate/learn but that you also wish to watch all CS's.
I have been in DF parties where people are doing a first run and watch their CS's...they made it into every battle, so unless you are a slow reader or in a group of absolute impatient dicks, you should be able to do both...just when you see the 'boss zone' step in. That way they can't lock you out.
Lastly, it IS good to see the 'speed run' as well...now you're going to be doing it again and again as such.
CM and The Praetorium are the two final dungeons of the storyline, so of course people want to watch the cutscenes first time through
the fact that players choose to farm CM is their choice, and honestly i think anyone who DEMANDS a new player skip the cutscenes needs to have their DF access revoked. its crap like that which is why i dread picking anyone up for anything from DF.
to the OP, shame you're on a different server than myself, or i'd get something together for you. Our FC does regular runs for "farming" CM but will always stop to allow a new player to view the cutscenes if we bring one from the FC or if we pick someone up.
to those saying "just watch the scenes in your inn later" grow up, show some damn respect for another human being's want to ENJOY something they've paid for. would you be happy if you paid for a film and the projectionist skipped half the story to focus on the parts THEY want to see and told you all to watch it on DVD at home? no? then STOP doing that to people new to CM...

Whoever does a speedrun with a DF group is a moron... if you wanna Speedrun, create your own party.
There is a little Monkey in all of us....
Even after doing CM 20 odd times I still enjoy the cutscenes, of course while people still have their free trial you'll encounter people like this everytime you do it.
But then again, watching cutscenes makes you a leecher. >.>

No need to leave. you can watch all the cutscene you want and if they want to finish the dungeon with 7 people, let them do.
no one can tell you how to play your game. I watched all the cutscenes in my first run and didn't care about those whiners. it's more like their fault to do the speed-run farm in main storyline dungeons.
