Hello,
While it might take some time to procure all of the job-specific equipment using Allagan Tomestones of Mythology, we plan on slowly easing the cost of these items as we introduce new content in the future.

What he forgets to mention is that they will only be "easing the cost" once the content is worthless to endgame, so post-nerf. They will keep this gear treadmill rolling to hide the fact that endgame has virtually no content, lots of endgame LS's are currently getting to Turn 5 coil within the first day of the timer being reset and have nothing left to do but spam CM's for the next 6 days to gear jobs we currently do not main in darklight, which by time we are finished gearing will be out-dated by the next patch. Welcome to WoW.
Aion and several other failing games used this same tactic, and still try it. To get to aions "endgame" you literally have to spam daily/weekly quest for about 4 months after hitting cap level to get enough tokens to have a full set to even be able to compete in the actual pvp endgame, which is aions only endgame, that game also has virtually no content, they get you to log in just enough every day to count you as a sub on their charts.

I don't think this is going to be as bad as you say. Sure, they're going to release new endgame content and new endgame loot, but AF+1, I believe, is still going to be essential to progression. Sure, it won't be the latest, but it will be enabling. New gear is always going to be needed for new content, and there is no reason to artificially bar people from reaching new content after the last content has already been cleared. The only thing I'm hoping for is that they do not nerf the old content (Binding Coil, HM Primals) too badly when 2.1 comes out. (Not at all, in an ideal world - IMO gear itself should be the only enabler for clearing past content - current content should obviously be skill and luck.)What he forgets to mention is that they will only be "easing the cost" once the content is worthless to endgame, so post-nerf. what about people who already spent their tokens for higher?

SE Please Add Machinist As A Pet Job. Musketeer/Machinist = Puppetmaster With A Gun.
then what's the point in spending tokens now? you don't even need af2 to complete game content now. dl is fine even for coil.

Its fine if you want to wait, just like that tv thats too expensive, some people wait till it goes on sale.
Just wait till later.
The point is its there for those who want it now..

What about them? The higher cost is the trade off for buying it when it's relevant. The cost comes down when SE introduces new equipment that trumps the previous stuff. It's no different than lowering the price on a car when a newer model comes out to replace it.

No. No, no, no, no, no. How about you guys just put this gear in relevant, lore friendly content? I mean, have you any idea how lame it is to have such amazing gear all just bunched up on a NPC for sale? During job quests, they make a big fuss about AF (even though it's a joke), but iLvl 90 AF2 with amazing stats? Oh, this NPC in Mor Dhona has an infinite supply of all of them up for trade for easily procured allagan trinkets! Wat.
