Yeah I agree that they are hitting you all the time too. PLD's damage mitigation is passive and requires no action for it to go off. I really want to see a decent comparison between the two taking into account the things that seem to get overlooked.

if only Storms Path still had the combo bonus on it! There would be your damage mitigation right there!

PLD cooldowns are preemptive, not passive. Theres a difference.
PLD that uses their cooldown before the big hit > PLD that uses their cooldown after the big hit

PLD and WAR are both mitigation tanks. The difference between the two is that one is a preemptive tank while the other is a reactive tank.
