OK, I write a macro to input 1234567890, and I assign it to hotkey 1.
I press 1.
According to your misinformation, I BOTTED the characters "23456890" because I only pressed "1".

Anyway on the other hand, I'm actually relieved to see that part of the community is actually new to MMOs, not the same people over and over again in previous MMOs. In time you will know what macros can do. For raid leaders to press one button to spam instant 20-word-strategies in raids due to random boss mechanics, or when you have to use 5 non-GCD skills between two spells casts.

Macros are built-in for most MMOs, most people just use them to type less, well I even know some that have macros to flame noobs, but it doesn't matter, they're in-game, made by the game.

So, I guess you miss the part when he does in fact Input the macro command everytime he claims a mob, he just do it without watching the screen. I guess Im cheating too since I use macros why I watch tv also.

lol, I know my rotation so well too, I can run the whole raid without watchin my hotbars. OMG am I gonna get banned coz I don't look at the screen. XDXDXDXD

What ????? ok the way i understand the OP talk is that he made a macro on his controller to farm mob and he was clicking on the macro but he put chat word "/say ......." in the macro and that was spamming the chat log so people complain him for that.

But since when looking tv while playing is botting .. he still click on his controller. Botting = using a program to help
i did fishing and i was looking tv and my finger was on 1 and 2 ... 1 for throw the line .. and 2 to hook the fish when i was hearing the sound of it. i was still playing but watching tv and look LS/FC chat too to chat with them

fixed for you. I don't like to farm for mats, and I think it's nice if people can be courteous while competing for spawns, but at least I recognize it is fully within their right to not give two **** about their competitors.

According to the Square-Enix rep you did not. The Square-Enix Rep called it wrong with a mandatory suspension if you take such actions.

I think people are just mad that they didn't think of the idea themselves, and that someone was outclaiming them by using in game macros while pushing buttons on their controller, while not even needing to look at your screen.

Wow... slow down a moment folks. This person has fluffed up, but it appears they have done so in both ignorance and innocence. Clearly they didn't realise it was a bannable offence as part of the ToS, or they wouldn't have posted it here asking what they have done wrong.

So give them a little break, at least they have been educated now. If they continue to exploit the ability to play unattended, then feel free to jump on them. Right now, they are clearly just unaware of their crimes.

He redacted the part about using a macro set to trigger automatically, check the OP - he editted it to look less incriminating. My post was in response to his original comments, not his cleaned up "hey I'm innocent" post.

You have it wrong. What I meant was it was an in game macro for use with the controller because by default targetting with the controller selects players as well so I binded an in game macro to only target enemies.

Eye doctor : when you work or play on pc for a long time. Look somewhere else far like outside the window for few minutes so it dont force your eyes.
Player : But doctor i can't!!! the game says i got to keep eyes on the game at 100% if i dont. I will be call a botter -.-

OP is blind, a friend set up his macros so he can actually play the game. he is not watching his screen since he is blind, he cannot respond to tells since he cannot see them, he keeps mashing his macros and ignoring the people around him. op sucks at doing anything other than ignoring tells/trade windows and spamming same macros over and over. ban him yesterday already no?
