Ifrit's Harpoon.

It is completely luck. I got my harpoon on my second kill. My bard friend has done Ifrit dozens of times with no bow. RNG is a fickle mistress.

Yeah, I got my weapons in my first run Ifrit and second time in Garuda.

IMO the Ifrit weapon isn't really even worth farming for. Use the GC weapon. Kill him once, farm CM, AK, Garuda. The Garuda weapon is better anyway.

Not quite. Physical damage is the most important attribute for a weapon and Gae Bolg +1 has 46 whereas Garuda's Beak has 41. And Gae Bolg +1 has 31 STR and 26 crit rate vs Garuda's 22 STR and 29 skill speed. Gae Bolg +1 is a much better weapon. Hell, even regular relic is better.

I have run Ifrit Hard Mode more than 120 times now (trust me, i kept track) and no matter how many times i do it, i still do not get the drop for Lancer/Dragoon.

I've run Ifrit 3 times. The first time, some WHM cane dropped that no one cares about (sorry healers).

Second time, the Harpoon dropped, and a baddie DRG who died 4 times picked it up.

Third time, the Harpoon dropped again and I was the only DRG.


* Just posting because stabbing your pain point with a sharp stick may help numb the pain of getting shafted by the RNG.

Edit: Of course now I'll never see any other spear drop due to negative karma accrual.

Never saw Garuda's though.

All I was seeing at Ifrit was books and 1 bow. And then suddenly 2 lances in a row. Never saw any other weapon. Even Garuda and Titan..books. Funny.

I play monk and most of the time I'm the only monk in the group but it still took me about 50 runs + getting the index, the bow, the harpoon and the sword before I got my claw. -_- RNG is RNG.

My record of RNG giving the piss is 8 MNK weapons in a row.. I wonder how big those odds are!

We're both in this case. I've seen Garuda's Talon way too many times.
