Even though there's so much doom, gloom, & nerdrage on the forums, I'm constantly having great experiences with people in-game.

Like today when a complete stranger on the streets of Ul'Dah suddenly traded me a Demon Brick minion for free!
(I know Demon Bricks are in abundance from dungeon spamming, but despite wanting one, I've been holding off. It's more fun to loot one in a dungeon than it is to buy it for cheap on the boards, right? Well, getting one as a gift is fun, too!)

Plus:

• helpful cures and raises during FATEs
• friendly and skilled DF groups
• /shout questions promptly answered
• several fun /shout convos about things like this wonderful thread

Exhibit A: my DF group hanging out patiently and happily when someone has to AFK for a bit


Please let me know that it's not just my server and DF cluster!

I had a horrible couple groups first time around doing the last two story missions. Not that they were bad but they were the type who raged over me wanting to watch the cutscenes. I decided one last try but if I got a group like that again I was just plain done with the game.
Ended up with a group that was not only cool with it but were talkative and very fun to play with. Made me wish everyone was such a pleasure to be around.
Oh, and for those saying the groups must have wiped and been horrible.. nope. We flew through the last story mission like it was nothing (while enjoying the story).
Wish I could have been on the same server as them. They were fantastic.

Sadly, my positive experiences have become few and far between since reaching 50. I can't say I've really had any as of late.

I'm currently leveling CNJ, PGL, THM, LTW, GSM, MIN, BTN, and WVR and they're all lvl26-36. And I'm consistently having a great time with other players, though I do spend a lot of time not being social, too.

It probably is your level. I felt the same around that level. Then I hit 50 and people have become quite uppity. They expect you to have darklight gear for a dungeon you're running in order to get tomes for it. :|

Most of mine were early too. The first couple weeks were awesome. Running dungeons for the first times for everyone, and no one raged or quit, and even just went in figuring out as we went along, wipes and all. Joking in between. First dungeon run ever and i think all the other members got that error that booted them before they joined, so me and another arcanist tried to dou the whole thing. Ran out of time at the end, but had a great time the whole way.

Now there are a lot of ragers, rushers, people yelling in newbie zones about people turning things in during fates (this isn't DD, not even close, and god i hope they nerf that just to spite those people who rage in the newbie zones), and some rarer good groups.

I've generally had pretty good parties doing dungeons. my girlfriend had one bad experience with someone abusing her but apart from that its been really good. I like people her don't take wiping to seriously and can just have a laugh about it sometimes. Because gaming is supposed to be fun isn't it

I'm really new to the game. I only played the closed beta till level 20 and that's pretty much all the experience I have with the game so I was a bit nervous to go on my first dungeon run after reading the forums, but I had a friendly guild mate and some people from the duty finder to help me out with it. Had a pretty positive experience so I'm looking forward to doing some more now. That said I'm not looking forward to the level 50 content due to all the ragers that apparently exist there. Hopefully by the time I do get up that high some of them will have left. I take a really long time to level so it could be quite a while before I need to worry about that stuff.

I have been helped to kill some mobs (or healed) quite a few times when questing.
I try to do the same whenever possible.
