This is spot on..Average duty finder PUG-
'Stonerbro Potsmoke' The slowmo tank "I gotsta hit dis bong real quick bro!"
'Secksy Catbutts' The 13 y/o boy who plays the anorexic cat girl, and runs around like he forgot to take his ADHD meds "Gay! Suck! Fail! Penis!"
'Catbutt Secks' The counter part to the last titstick
The Catbutt twins will Leeroy Jenkins a room before Stonerbro even realizes he's been moved into a dungeon, much less added to a party.
Catbutt twins are now running around in a circle shouting "Gay! Tank Sucks! LOL! Penis!"
Stonerbro is following them Benny Hill style "Stop movin bro! I can't move and attack bro!"
I get frustrated chain cast heals till I get all agro and just stand in one spot healing myself while Stonerbro and the Catbutt twins dps everything down.
Catbutt Twins- "Lol! CNJ Suck! Tank Fail! Penis!"
Stonerbro- "wtf bro! lemme tank bro!"
Hello everyone - First post I think here so bare with me but I just want to put this out there.
Since we are on the topic of job/class responsibilities I would like to point out that:
1. As a tank know your limits - Don't just rush into the a room of 10-20 mobs and expect healers to keep you up. In this particular instance I know right off that bat that even with all the healing in the world my cool down is not going to allow for me to keep you up. It then becomes a balancing game for healers to peel your new-found friends to bring your damage to acceptable limits. Which is were the CC aspect of our class comes into play. - Fluid Aura > Repose is macro-ed for such events as well as getting aggro from all the new mobs you decided to befriend. (This will be continued...)
Which brings me to my other point - DPS/DOT - whatever you want to call yourselves
2. I realize that it is very tempting to go in the middle of said pack and AOE or mana bar away. Or dot every single mob till your heart’s content but please save that for instances or times when it’s really needed. IE when adds spawn during a boss right - (WP comes to mind)
Between managing and removing status effects CCing when the BLM is entirely sleeping on the job literally, not to mention healing the tank and dodging. Healers really could do without you going over to wake a peacefully sleeping mob. The only healing spell that have that can be cast while running is Regen which will maybe keep you up for a bit if you pull aggro that means wipe or Raise if the healer finds the time do so.
I can't tell you how to do your jobs but I just wanted to point out that healers have a lot on their plate. I enjoy being a healer but there are times when I just want to burst with anger from some of the parties I've had. I have come to the point of having a Boolean Statement before each pull - To heal or not to heal that is the question. Sometimes its better to just let you die but only as a learning mechanism. If NOT healing you is what is best for the groups survival of said pull as a whole then prepare for rezz sickness. I will gladly raise everyone afterwards saying to them "Now what did we learn?" Anyway thanks for reading or not reading.![]()

^This. Having a feel of the battles is the key and that takes experience. With a feel on things you can pretty much stray away from standard play and do some DPS. Of course keeping everyone alive and not pulling hate is the priority but with a decent tank trash mobs are pretty dull and tank and spank bosses should be DPS'ed down faster. Unlike FFXI, WHMs here deal pretty good damages to make difference.

Yeah, except there are a lot of healers played by Secksey Catbutts that run around screaming "Pull faster!!" jumping and dpsing while healing "because I can do it all- healers are op! LOLZ" - "Why do I still have mps??"
One of the reason I play a healer is so I don't have to deal with the other people playing healers. (Not that everyone is like that, of course)

This, every time someone stands in gunk/fire/things that kill them. I will not heal you if you can't watch where you stand!Sometimes its better to just let you die but only as a learning mechanism. If NOT healing you is what is best for the groups survival of said pull as a whole then prepare for rezz sickness. I will gladly raise everyone afterwards saying to them "Now what did we learn?" Anyway thanks for reading or not reading.

It is easy, on my SCH I have been experimenting with healing delays since I have a fairy that heals through trash fairly well.
I think this game calls for a balance of healing and DPS(/CC if needed). If all you do is heal you will have so much downtime it will put you to sleep. But its definitely a skill you hafta learn through practice. When your DPS'ing sometimes you might get lazy and forget the HP bars.

A lot of people need to learn that if one does obtain aggro from the tank through uber dps. JUST STAND THERE and not run away from the tank/healer. I hate trying to chase them to the end of the Eorzea because these DPS think they can run away from all hits and kite, especially melees. (Bards are an exception to this) For sure in 8 mans, I can easily solo heal a single target through all the burst damage, but I can't heal if i cant cast because im trying to chase them down. Gets annoying sometimes. And by sometimes, i mean all the time.
