Essentially this. The efficiency of Byregot's is based on your Inner Quiet at the time you use Byregot's. Typically, on any serious synthesis I'll set it up so my last touch action is a Great Strides + Byregot's for massive quality.

Thanks for the info guys. Sounds like its only real use is GS + BB as the last touch action, which is still nice. It'll be a cheaper, more efficient, GS + ST.

Yeah, that's what it's for. With Hasty spam, you'll have 1000 control and touch for 600% efficiency on that pop, though. Even Normal status with Ingenuity will put you at 100% HQ on anything. The only drawback is that you don't have the Rumination buffer anymore, so you're pretty much stuck finishing your synth as soon as you hit Byregot. Small price to pay, I say.
