A word to the Tanks out there.

You know it sounds all good in print but when you go to tell people what to do they don't do it and they don't care and i blame the cross server DF for that, but that's another thread. If we direct and people don't listen there is no reason for us to continue to spend time putting in chat what to do when others don't or they want to correct you every time and i am talking CM mainly. When i run AK its a different story, i mark and i take it easy because most people will listen but a 8 man DF is another story....

^This. There is a limit to how helpful you can be. If I know what I'm doing, I'll lead, no problem with that. I'll run in, mark kill order, CCs and whatnot, and guide firsttimers/inexperienced people through content. However, there are two closely related kinds of people that really burn me out. The "I don't care" and the "I won't listen". Certain people do not want to learn, they just want to be carried through content...

3. If you have no intentions of marking the mobs in order of kill and cc, don't sign up.

1. i never ditch any DF group, but if someone else ditch the group it can't be helped, i never see someone joining in the middle of dungeon (except CM)
2. Tank = Leader , thats always on my mind
3. i already have sign shortcut (1,2,3) on my action bar since lvl 15 and i always said "please sleep/repose 2++"

Speaking as a DD, I significantly prefer marking. Granted, it depends on the tank, but some of them cycle targets so much that I'm basically doomed to steal aggro.

Marking "usually" does not change during the course of the fight, tank targets, on the other hand, do.

then don't cycle with tank, if one of the 3 mobs have half HP i sure wont cycle with tank to some mob with full HP ... and at start of the fight just wait 2 sec and then assist .... i guess i have a good tank in grp, and its WAR !!

Have to agree here, there's really no need to mark targets if you run with a good group. By the time the first mob is dead I've got enough aggro on the rest that the DD can switch to whichever they want and I'll retain aggro until everything's dead. The problem arises with the overzealous DD that don't know how to let us grab initial aggro and think we have a magic button that gives us instantly capped hate.

I usually leave DF runs in AK if I see that the DPS on the first few pulls is too low. Not worth wasting my time wiping on the wall. Who even CCs things in these instances? Just aoe it down.

Until now marking CCs has always been superfluous. 1 2 3 is more than enough, imho.

I agree on point 1 and 2, but I have to disagree with point 3. Every member of the group has a brain. People should stop expecting the tank to do all the work and start thinking themselves, because if they do there is no need to mark anything. I find it hardly ever necessary to mark and when I do, it's mostly because I have stupid or new dps in my party (although in the first case is usually doesn't help).
