After the damage is done you mean. I have yet to play a game where the game's economy wasn't wrecked by RMT on day 1. These ideas are based off what other games tried...
Here's how SE can throttle this until they get a real fix:
- Disable selling all shards, crystals, and clusters since that's all these mining bots are doing. The item is not sellable to NPC's anyway, but actually make it untradeable. Only finished-but-not-bound items can be sold.
- or set the quantity limit to 99 to trade.
To prevent bots from harvesting materials and driving the prices down/up:
- Randomize the positions of the materials that can be harvested, this will screw up auto-clickers, but not teleports.
- To screw up the teleports, put a cooldown between being able to harvest that gradually increases. eg every node you mine/harvest/fish from adds 2 seconds to the cool down. Someone who is actually moving between the nodes will never trip this, but a bot will.
You can't stop the people from writing bots, but you can make them perform worse than playing.

Just have to reply to myself because of character limit.
Basically the crafting system works as intended, but the locations do not. For example the skills that let you harvest 3 at a time are given at level 20. Well I've already seen level 21 bots. What needs to happen is some kind of "cap quest" to unlock having more than 99 crystals.
I don't know I play on a legacy server, there's clearly some RMT going on, but it seems it's only affecting the crystals. See this message I just got 30 seconds ago:
