    I agree with this too, while players are watching the content there needs to be a lockout to let them enjoy it. And hey if people don't like others watching the cut-scenes, then form your own group!

    I find that odd, first time I've seen that type of programming with a dungeon finder tool, hopefully they'll fix this, as a lot of players who are suffering that issue see this a SE's way of artificially slowing down player progression, can't say I blame them for feeling that way.

    The targeting in this game is odd, clicking on a moving target is such a pain in the rear, I hope they fix that.

    The game certainly has issues, we are in the first month of release for 2.0, hopefully they have a huge team coding back there to address them. I believe these next 2 months are going to be pivotal for FFXIV, players are going to see just how long it's going to take for them to resolve some of the games major issues.

    About the level distribution, what you fail to realize is that everyone and their mother is at lvl 15, its one of the prime requisites for your JOB thats what the number shows, so no the majority of the community is not at 15 or below, everyone HAS several lvl 15 or below classes.

    PvP will be not good in this game, you don`t need to be excited.

    The playerbase will drop by 200% and the old 1.0 fanboys and some new ones that have nothing else to do but waiting desperately for new content that will come in 2 months will stay.

    You don`t need to compare WOW Vanilla endgame with FFXIV, this was 6/7 years ago? If you develop a MMO nowadays, there need to be endgame content at release that keep players addicted for weeks or months, not only one damn 8 man raid (with a pathetic 1 week lock) and 1 level 50 dungeon. What about repeatable dungeons in heroic mode? Variety, you know what VARIETY is, SE?

    SE can`t expect everyone to be casual who needs 5 weeks to 50 and another 10 weeks to see endgame content. There are always people that are rushing and seeking variety in endgame, variety which does not exist here currently.

    They should feel sorry for all the current-endgame-players which have nothing to do because SE failed.

    I dunno...I'd start with the fact that you get the most tomestones for doing an 8 man that isnt even the last dungeon int he story (not to mention the most boring) Tying endgame progression in to fresh 50 story content is just retarded and is what helped facilitate the friction between people watching cut scenes and people trying to speed run. You literally run boring dungeon over and over for endgame tomes...does that not bother you at all? Lets forget the fact that dungeon latency is buns, and the fact that I can heal the first boss of AK from a tree, heck all three bosses in AK are a buggy mess some runs, getting almost a full levels worth of crafting exp for buying 15 HQ items off an auction house and turning them in (on a post 40 leve....), having to constantly shrink the duty finder pool because they couldnt apparently figure out what every other MMO has been doing for the past 3 years (severely hurting DPS classes especially in the process)....seriously in your attempt to look cool you just made yourself look like a fool.

    I love how the OPs example is SWTOR, a game that - from the start - was called a failure, people STILL claim it's a failure, and yet it's running on 500k+ subs, not counting the f2p folks who spend money every once in a while. and unlike popular belief it DOES pump out enough quality content (the quests - apart from the main story maybe - are arguably tons better in TOR)

    but that being said it's still two entirely different games. I am not concerned in the slightest, especially since I've played games before that DID shut down relatively closely after their release and neither TOR nor ARR are even remotely comparable playerwise (the games in question would be Hellgate:London and The Chronicles of Spellborn, by the way. both games I loved. both great games. both failed miserably even though even after release they were called 'very promissing')

    It depends on the console crowd/ps4 and the Japanese when ever the game will be successful or not.
    By the time the PS4 will come out I think ARR will be a lot better than it is now , especially for the console market.

    I don't think ARR will be all that interesting for the PC crowd for the time being.
    It's a very generic MMO with little content and horrible server lag.

    Unless you're a fan or this is your first MMO chances are that you've played mmo's that where better designed than this, all that makes this game some what special is the IP.


    I suspect that the majority of players will be either fans or console players and they will keep this game going for a while.

Queue times for dps were 40-60m or more so Blizz added a feature where you would get a bag of random stuff, from flasks and gems to rare mounts, if you queued up as a tank/healer during times when they were in demand (indicated on the group finder).

    A lot of people complained about this when they first announced it for the same reason you are. However, it worked. Dps queue times dropped by half or more, depending.

    So, I feel like a few extra gil/exp for the in-demand roles are worth getting into a dungeon far more quickly, no?

    I decided to sub for the first month, but I'm pretty bored with the game already. Every day it's just spamming CM and whatever over and over again for a gear grind.
