and this also applies to any Tier 1 HQ crafted gear outfitted in materia, darklight is a time sink if you know crafters IMO. just a complete waste of time. god forbid people actually socialized, made friends with and got a good deal from a fellow crafter. no way! not in an MMO. sheesh

When xivdb adds HQ items to their database it will be added to this list. As for your rant, I static with friends in AK and socialize over mumble while we completely steamrolling the place. I don't know what you're talking about. You don't need to socialize to hand over someone some gil for an HQ item.

You should be able to get hoplite and darklight simultaneously. As for spending mythos---first 900 should go to your relics.

So doing CM runs and I noticed this tank with I guess better gear kept using Rage of Halone should I just straight up start doing that whatever I'm fighting no matter where I am or still do the Fast Blade-Savage Blade then Rage of Halone?

In short: He's doing it wrong.

Rage of Halone by itself is pretty decent to use when you need threat at that very second and not a second after (i.e, you just died and you got raised, and just provoked). The Halone Combo provides far better threat over time.

Is it possible to advance in relic quest without a decent shield? I've done so many runs in WP (lost count after 11th) and didn't see shield drop a single time. Also I'm on a fresh server, so the highest ilvl of a shield available on the market for the past week is in mid 40 - i have a ilvl43 shield myself.

Dunno whether I should grind WP till it makes me quit this game (:P) or I can just push the quest onward till I get my Holy Shield & maybe get a lucky drop from Titan...?

The only time you should not combo your halone is if its in your provoke macro and you are trying to get a lead to start doing halone combos. Also maybe if you weren't aware of an add spawn and you just need to get it on you to start halone comboing. Other than that the person you grouped with was not playing to his full potential.

I got lucky and went from rotten round shield to holy shield+1. It's possible, but I was in mainly darklight gear. I did maybe 10 WP to try for the shield but ended up doing well over 70 AK runs to get tomes and hopelite.
