HQ version of your weapon equivalent (Needed for Relic Weapon) is available on the auction house. It is -1 point worse than what you can get from Ifrit. Not a huge deal. Get your Relic. That is a definitive win and way better than a drop weapon. Stop relying on things to drop and do the better attainable items.

While that may be true, you wouldn't want to use the same weapon for the quest as your ACTUAL mainhand weapon. Since you hand it over to him when he asks for it, and they give you nothing in return. its like 2 or 3 steps later that you finally get the broken weapon (meaning you have to kill Chimera and run AK without a weapon), you then lose the broken weapon after you complete hyrda so you again need a weapon for the HM Primals. I just wanted to clarify so someone doesn't go buy the weapon thinking they will get to keep it throughout the quest.

No. I do not play casinos. I will not grind, and just because it's cosmetic doesn't make RNG grinds.

Get it through your thick head. RNG is garbage -- some dude will not have to grind for the same effort it took another person grinding endlessly to get a drop. And that's not acceptable design to me.

Effort should be rewarded equally.

I never said it wasn't garbage... in fact I sided with you if you flip back a few pages on the subject, saying that it sucks that you either have full RNG or a (seemingly) endless token/currency grind. There is no happy middle. I guess that is what makes AK SOMEWHAT worth all the effort since it is the only place that really rewards on both fronts.

What I was saying was that RNG for vanity is perfectly acceptable because it isn't stopping you from moving forward on content. It's like those mount runs from WoW where you had a .001% chance for it to drop. You didn't HAVE to run the content for those mounts repeatedly... but many did. If you want it bad enough, you will put in the effort, if not, then oh well, there is plenty else to do.
